Post yfw people start arguing over pokemon eras, and the generations within them.
Have we not seen an end of an era already?
Era I being Gens I-IV, and Era II being Gen V to where we are now?
>Era I ended by adding several babies and evolutions for older pokemon as some sort of a bookend
>Era I ended by adding legendaries controlling the fabric of that universe
>Era II starts off with a gen full of expies
>150+ pokemon all over again, no access to pokemon from earlier generations at first
>Era II generations only have two pairs of games before moving on to the next generation

No because that's fucking retarded

I can agree with this

How so?
>>26887735
Era 1: Basic sprites (Gen 1-2)
Era 2: Advanced sprites (Gen 3-5)
Era 3: Basic 3D (Gen 6-7?)

Era 4: Not washed out colors 3D (Pokemon GO)
>>26888828
Era 7: Holograms
>>26888828
Era 4: Advanced 3d(gen 8-10?)
Era 5:???
>>26888828
I can get behind this.
Era 4: Realistic 3D
Era 5: VR

I like to think gens 1 and 2 were the "classics," gens 3-5 are the "formulaic" games (I call them "traditional") and gen 6 is the beginning of the modern Pokémon games. All three pose major shifts in the franchise, so I feel like it's at least somewhat valid.
One thing I will never understand is all the work they made, from ruby and saphire to emerald with animated intros, to fully animated sprites, and are shit because too pixely... And in a short span of b/w 1&2 they jumped to 3d, tossing away 500+ sprites of worthlessness now...

Arguing about Pokémon eras was more fun in 2010.
