Yeah, my only gripe with the Kalos league is all of Ash's matches will either be skipped over or barely seen. It doesn't matter too much since Ash is only using his Kalos pokemon, but still Hoenn had him use the same 6 pokemon over and over but gave him so many battles. 3 different 6 on 6 matches (Katie, Morrisson, Tyson), and he a number of 2 on 2 matches before that.

To be fair, Greninja has taken it to a completely new level compared to the likes of Infernape and Sceptile, at least when battle OPness and battle screentime is taken into account.
When was the last time there was a major trainer battle where Greninja wasn't the main focus? Starting from XYZ13 with Ash's first match with Alan, up until his final league match with Alan... that's 9 straight trainer battles where it's all about Greninja, if I counted correctly.
I like Greninja, but that's simply too much. I want to see Ash's other Pokemon in the spotlight as well.
