It looked terrible so I made (what I thought would) look better...
To do this in photoshop:
Use levels to fix the color by dragging the black up into its range, and then merge that layer into the background
Next use Filter > Noice > Noice reduction, play around with it and you will get it right even if you have no idea what you are doing.
I then cropped it, sad to see the picture became smaller though...

Looking for wallpapers of each set of regional starters in their first and/or final stages. No need to bother looking for Kalos. Wallpapers of Eevee and its evolutons would be nice too.

Only issue with waifu2x is it can make lines splotchy if an image is made too large; this is sometimes a cool effect but other times ruins the image
