The stream lagged kinda bad when they showed it, but it's fairly similar to Pokemon Tretta in that you have disks representing your own Pokemon and then battle other Pokemon in the game and try to catch them. Catching them gives you real-world disks with that particular Pokemon

It appears to be more oriented around "cheering" on your Pokemon by hammering the cheering buttons to power up your attacks, though. Also, I think Corocoro mentioned that winning battles can make your Pokemon stronger and eventually evolve them.
