ANNOUNCEMENT
Hi guys, I'm sure you noticed the title of this thread already, and I'm here to explain what exactly this means for Clover.
I recently managed to get my hands on an empty template for GitHub based around ROM hacking, and I thought this was a really great opportunity for us. Starting as soon as I can make Grit(an image compression tool based on the command line) work properly with this project, we'll be moving Clover to a repository on GitHub!
This is a rather large change from the closed system in the IRC. We used to pass the ROM along PMs, but now we won't even really have a ROM. We'll have an IPS patch with all the progress we've made so far and then all the source code that we make all in the same repository.
This way, you can track EXACTLY what we do, and when we do it. We'll be adding scripts and ASM there in .s files all the time, as well as some C as needed. Any new sprites that are made will end up there as well. You can contribute too, of course.
Some more technical things to note; while we are moving Clover to GitHub, we will be posting IPS patches to the thread when we decide we've produced a demo. This is because the source code isn't easy to compile if you don't know what you're doing. I'll explain how to set up the environmental variables to you in more detail if you decide to contribute, it's too much work otherwise. I will make a README with all the necessary information of course, but sometimes that's not enough. In addition, all music and map edits will have to be done to that IPS patch because we have no way to properly edit those in .s files.
Overall, moving to GitHub will speed up our progress, make bug fixing easier, and reclaim some of that community feel that we all want. If you want to help with scripting, coding, spriting, or just goofing off, you should contact us on #PokemonClover @ rizon.net, because that's where the coding discussion will be.

If you honestly think that the demo from may is any good, you are delusional.
Cardboard copy of FR with a bit of new cheeky plot every hour or so. Large maps and cities, but completely empty and unisnpired. Crappy NPCs. Though the trainers in the game are pretty cool and challenging, what is nice.
The whole demo (part you were supposed to play through) feels and plays like an unfinished mess, If you guys honestly think that the demo is good and you only need to wait for the scripts to have a good hack...
