- Serena: personally, she's the least interesting main female character in the anime to me.

So it's not blatantly illegal then. And also Ash could use Aura to read the emotions of the opposing trainer or mon to get a little fake precog, get a sense of when they're gonna attack and stuff. He could use Aura Sight to suss out a decoy or aim for his mon through smoke or whatever, or maybe none of this stuff since he refused Aura Guardian training. But still, synchro. There's so much made of his 'clever' battling style fucking up the field to do stuff or repurposing moves but I'd like to see him leveraging some actual trainer-based advantages.
It's funny that battlefield control is his big gimmick, when in his first major fight he backed off a win because of the sprinkler system thing
