I liked his teams a lot. Very, very nice mon selection, and it threw me off a few times. Only challenging rival aside from Barry, and that's a fact.

I liked this aspect of him so much, I made a playthrough rule set based on it. "N Challenge": you can only use evolutionary lines first encountered between the previous gym and the next gym for all gym battles. Additionally, your top level Pokemon can't be any higher levelled than the gym leader's lowest-levelled.
It's pretty fun. Ran through W2 challenge mode like that. Have to say Marlon's gym is the hardest to prepare for.
