I feel like AG, DP, and XY are the holy trinity of Pokemon battling wise. Each of them have really great battles, characters, and Ash's team is based in all three. That's not to say OS wasn't good but if you were watching strictly for cool battles you'd be disappointed.

The coloring looks well done but it looks bland to me, I think you need to work more on shading.

XY/XYZ has been phenomenal and I'm just hoping for an ending that lives up to everything that has taken place so far.

I'm on the fence about whether Serena will stay or not. I can definitely see Clemont/Bonnie leaving. Clemont would just say something about staying away from the gym too long, and he'll need to stay in Kalos with Bonnie. Serena has her thing with Yashio too. Her goodbye might have something to do with her indecision between continuing her adventure with Ash or committing to Kalos Queen. And Ash will say something about following your dreams or whatever.
But at the same time, 'Luna' and Lillie don't look like characters that would travel with Ash without some retooling (maybe they'll go with a female gym leader?). And the writers are still pushing Serena/Ash fairly hard (for Pokemon that is) even now that we're at endgame. So I could see a small hope that she goes along with him to the next region to "see the world for herself" or something. Then they'll just choose a male companion with a female rival or something to tack on.

There is really no rocket science to this. After them being declared heroes of Kalos after clearing up the whole Kalos Crisis, Ash decides to go to Alola. Clemont and Bonnie can't come with him because they have a Gym to take care of. Serena, after a dramatic dilemma, decides to take up on Yashio's offer and become her protege since becoming Kalos Queen is her dream. Ash leaves his team with Professor Oak except maybe Greninja which stays in the ninja village.
It's just as simple as that, though of course most of us hope for something much better and not so basic and predictable.

This is Serena. Prior to becoming a pokemon performer, she first started her journey to reunite with a special person and return a blue handkerchief. At one time, she ended up realizing that her lack of goal was a problem for her future as a trainer. Thanks to various friends and her special person she decidedthe route of being a pokemon performer. At the Coumarine City tripokalon she had her first loss, and the reason she cried is that she was finally able to start her dream and to symbolise her resolve, she cut her hair short. She had displayed gourgeous performances and faces many hardships, to the point of winning her three princess keys to compete in the master class tripokalon. Serena has displayed a spectacular performance but sprained her wrist in the process. Despite that, she was able to compete against Elle for the title of kalos queen. Even though she lost, she and Elle agreed to compete in the same stage again one day. Serena was offered by Palmero for teaching but refused because she still wanted to travel with her special person.

Looking back the reason the writers could get away with removing May and Dawn despite their popularity is because the anime itself was still going extremely well ratings wise. They had nothing to fear. Once BW's ratings started slipping I'm sure this is why Serena's crush was created in the first place. They never would have bothered with this shipping angle otherwise.

Of course for the continued popularity of the show I can't see them completely scrapping the XY family to go over well with most fans, except maybe people on Serebii or whatever, but this show is first and foremost an advertisement for the franchise, and a good show second. Could also have Ash's time as the star end. Unlikely, but they might go the Yu-Gi-Oh/Digimon route and just start doing new characters each season. That way Ash doesn't need to reset again and he can stay with Serena. What's weird is that Brock's Japanese VA is still on the show to this day voicing Greninja and Wobbufett. But the voices for all the female characters no longer work on the anime at all, not even for filler characters or background roles.

Anon, if anything Mayuki has been the exception because Misty, May, and Dawn's VAs were singers and Iris was voiced by Aoi Yuki. Cilan and Bonnie are voiced by famous VAs while Serena's was someone who did mainly background voices.

No it's not. In fact, it reiterates that the XY anime as a whole is something OLM and TV Tokyo are pushing to get the anime back on track viewer wise and popularity wise. Just look at how huge the promotional backing has been for XY. They didn't do this anywhere near enough for Best Wishes or Diamond and Pearl for that matter.
Knowing the previous series has popular voice actors on the cast and then saying XY has popular voice actors on the cast too means they are keeping the series consistent and they are aware of the viewer/promotional gain they get from it.
Imagine how many nips said "Kensho Ono is objectively one of the most popular male voice actors in Japan right now and you're telling me he is a main character in Pokemon? Holy shit I gotta see that."?
