ITT: Post your last Fakemon ideas, and help anons to make them better.

Here is a Carbink evolution, based on a knight, which is a Diancie's protector. I need a method evolution and moveset.
Also, I tried to make some stats, but I know nothing about competitiveness, are they good?

My main problem with this is that it's a large leap from its earlier appearance, particularly so since there weren't that many signs towards knigh-like features either. Doesn't always has to be, but I get the strong impression you just wanted a knight mon to accompany Diancie's princess/queen concept, and I'm afraid it doesn't quite work. If anything Carbink seems to be based on Carbuncles (given its name), so google search "Carbuncle creature/legend" if you wanna go down that route instead.

>>26445385
Would like an explanation behind this if possible, don't quite follow the trail of thought with those names alone.

>>26445428
Very basic and dull. It could work as a base stage for something that's not just a Glowing_Mushroom.jpg, but alone, this is just literally drawing an illiminescent mushroom and not much else. It needs something else to stand out, much like how they did with Breloom (mushroom + raptor).

>>26445434
I don't know if this is the evolved form of >>26445428 , but if it is, this is a bad way of incorporating another animal into the mix. You've taken a snake and added a mushroom cap on it, which means it's a forced reunion rather than a clever combination.

>>26445442
This is actually something I can see have potential, since the yellow hair on the macaroni penguin definitely can justify an electricity typing if played right. But as it stands, this is basically my mom's pet macaroni penguin with symbols on, so another small feature that melds better with the penguin/arctic environment would do it well (A coat? Snow shoes? Scarf? Just brainstorming).

>you just wanted a knight mon to accompany Diancie's princess/queen concept

That's the point. There is no other reason. It's just following Diancie's Princess concept. Carbinks becomes able to proctect Diancie like this.
Also, Carbink hasn't any link with a Carbuncle, I guess, except its english name, no? Well, it's a fairy type so it could works, yeah.

I will acknowledge the knight connection then, but the problem still lies in how it's more of a male Diancie counterpart instead of an evolution of Carbink, particularly when it comes to the face of your version. I whipped up my own take on this concept that you're free to use if you want, since I wanted to emphasize Carbink's features and not just make it similar to Diancie.
>>
>>26446071
That's the kind of design I was ready to try, to make it less like Diancie. Ty anon.

Found some cute salamanders while cleaning my garden, so I decided to make a salamander fakemon. Very work-in-progress. Any suggestions to make them better?
>>
>>26446682
I like the designs, but what types did you have in mind? As-is they look a bit like Water/Dragon, but salamanders in mythology are traditionally linked to Fire.
>>
>>26446071
daaamn i'd use this in game
>>
>>26446743
I imagined them as just plain Water. The first stage can be found in the early routes. Maybe the evolution can gain another type, but I'm not sure what. Dragon seems a bit powerful for an early-game pokemon.

Currently working on this line. Based on dogs and their bones, and the final form takes some influence of the abundance of dire wolf bones found in La Brea. I'm thinking ground/normal, maybe ground/dark? I also feel like I should throw a middle stage in there too.

>>
>>26447910
Sup T-Reqs.
Ground/Dark sounds perfect for them. I don't really think a second stage in between is necessary, though that might help differentiate it a bit from Houndour/Houndoom, which also has the bone motif. I think you're doing a good job so far though.
What's that on the back of the evolution? It's a bit hard to see in this sketch.

Well you can't really see the skull part aside from the horns. The horns are very distinct and look rad though, so maybe find a way to make the rest of the skull more obvious. Or maybe find another way to use bones. I'd say to stick a bone through its nose, but you already did that with your punker t-rex so you can't really do that a second time.

>>26447806
I also made these, based on Japanese Macaques who live in snowy regions and love to chill in hot springs. Ice/Fire.
I'm still trying to figure out what to do with the evolution. I was gonna make it a big-ass monkey who's agressive territorial as hell and fights others for the best hot springs, and might be kinda yeti-like, but then I also came up with the opposite, a big-ass monkey who's super relaxed from hanging around the hot springs, and maybe melting snow to create like a permanent steamy sauna around it or something like that. Not sure which one to go with.
Thoughts?

I've been reworking my Carnotaurus fake too, was thinking if removing the nose bone. Think that would work, or would they still be too similar?
As for your macaques, they're great. I especially like the chillaxed version of the final stage. The first form reminds me a little too much of some old psychic or fire orangutan fake that's been posted in a lot of fakemon threads, though.

No way, that carnotaurus is perfect as is man. I think it really benefits from that bone, it definitely needs something similar to a piercing to fit the punker theme. I'd just try to find something else to give the dog. Maybe put a fuckhuge bone in its mouth that it uses as a weapon? Though that might be too similar to Marowak. Maybe experiment with it using bones as some sort of armor, but keep the similarity to Houndoom in check.
I think I found the pokemon you mentioned. Really the only similarity is the fluffy arm, but it is there I guess. I don't think it's that big of a deal, but I can always get rid of them, it's not that important a feature. I'm loving the chill evolution too, so I think I'll go with that. Now I just need to punch up the design and make it good.

Not really an artist, would be cool if some one attempted drawing this, but I really want a Fire/Steel bull pokemon with a Roman theme

Hastalf- A little calf with red fur that has grayish-black tips, has a metal coat on its head that looks like a Polybian Hastati helmet that's a little too big for it, the three slim plumes being replaced by little flames

Legiochs - The front body grows more compare to the hind quarters, the front legs shift upwards and become much bigger, making the whole thing have more of a gorillas posture, the hooves become black three finger hands, the hind legs are black while the upper body is red. The Arms and the upper body are now coated with metal coats that resemble roman plate armor with a slight cracks on it, it has a mane running down its back that ignites when fighting. The head plate now looks like a Marian Helmet and has a large fiery plume, has space on the sides for the ears and the horns to stick out and point forward

Minotaurion - The Pokemon is now Bipedal with a larger upper body and long arms (relative to legs and lower body). The plate armor has now cracked and now looks like Roman Scale Armor and now covers the arms up to the elbows and shoulders as well as the upper body, the helmet now covers the upper part of the head and jay as well.

2 step evolution, it's kind of a quasi-gyadaros.
the hydrothermal pokemon
they're both water/fire types and it's a play on the concept of opposites
the first step is a lame worm called Antieel. It's based off deep sea worms that come from heat vents. The red bit at the tip would be a sliver of lava. Then when it hits level 30 or so it turns into Opposquid, which is like a deep sea squid that looks like a hot air balloon with a massive plume of lava belching from underneath. He has the ability Levitate due to this. They can also naturally learn Scald and Lava Plume. Their signature move is a water move called Marine Snow(basically flakes of dead shit that float down to feed them) that slows down all pokemon in on the field and heals all water types. They'd also be kind of hard to get, you'd have to use Dive and Flash simultaneously to get to the Deep Sea area of the game.

Thanks! I'm a bit iffy on this design for the final. i made a tiny doodle of what I'm trying to make its tail fins resemble, but I'm not sure if there's a way to make that look better.

I know the crest isn't consistent between those views, but the frontal view is what it's supposed to be.

Here is a quick sketch of an idea I had at work today.

Parasite Pokemon. The only way to "catch" these pokemon would be to contract them while walking through tall grass/battling wild pokemon/surfing/etc., but you wouldn't know your Pokémon had one until you visit a Pokémon Center where the nurse will tell you it's been successfully removed and will give it to you in a Pokeball, from there on out its usable as a normal Pokémon.

The only tell that you had a parasite is that an infected pokemon would occasionally recieve a status ailmentioned. The other catch is that the longer your Pokémon goes without visiting a Pokémon Center while infected the higher level/more evolved a parasite will be when it's removed. The parasites can't evolve once removed adding a challenge.

The status effects per parasite would be:
Tick - poison
Leech - sleep
Bot Fly - paralyze
Tape Worm - burn
Virus - frozen
>>
>>26445700
We had the same idea anon
>>
>>26445742

One is based off of the ancient worm "hallucigenia" and the other is based off of an ancient mollusc called "wiwaxia". Both are enigmatic fauna found in various Cambrian deposits (ie they're old as fuck, weird as fuck, have cool names and for the longest time we had no idea what they were)

>>
>>26458211
Amazing, I love the hardhat design of its carapace. First stage is adorable as fuck, but the evolution might need something more though, I think it's a tad bland at the moment, a bit too similar to the first stage. Maybe continue with the construction worker motif and make his claws look like big diggers or something?
Also, I would totally name the evolution Cricktonic (cricket + tectonic)

File: snow monkeys color.jpg (172 KB, 800x554) Image search: [Google]
snow monkeys color.jpg
172 KB, 800x554
I think I'm satisfied with these. Here's some flavor text.

First stage is an active pokemon that loves to play around in the snow with its friends. When they get tired they dip in hot springs to calm themselves, though they can get a bit territorial and fight over who gets the best hot spring.

Its evolution has a very high body temperature, especially in the heat reserves on its arms. When it finds a big pile of snow, it buries its big arms underneath to then expel an intense heat form them, immediately melting and evaporating the snow into a hot steam it uses to relax. It also heats up its own hot springs like this, though they probably like it much hotter than most, so don't jump in with it or you might get burned.

Anyone have any ideas for names?

I like the idea of it. Parasites are interesting. Maybe instead of statuses, they simply drain HP or PP from the infected Pokemon (like 10%/1 PP from every move every 50 steps) and after the battle that infects them the only notice you get that something's wrong is the menu icon in the party screen stops moving.

Like you said though, visiting a Pokemon Center will remove it and let you keep the parasitemon, but if you let the parasite completely drain the infected of its HP/PP (not both), it'll gain a powerful move that it wouldn't be able to learn otherwise. I don't think its evolutions should be locked to the infection though, but levels would be interesting. Maybe a fresh infection could have it be lvl 5 and the maximum is 30.

Not if dig the progression from cup to teapot, it'd make more sense imo for it to change into a large goblet with two handles. The pipe of the pot doesn't really work since it's just bones, meaning it's not actually a pot and just bones trying to look like one, which makes this design fairly awkward unless looked at straight up front.

>>26456183
I suppose this would make sense in a way, but I absolutely loathe the random statuses you'd receive from them. Imagine grinding per usual and then suddenly getting paralyzed or burned, that alone would pull down the grade for that Gen immensely. This also means these mons needs to be as small as Joltik to even be able to hide, so unless only larger mons can be infected, I would find their size to be underwhelming. Also you don't need one for every status effect, the other archetypes can be used for other designs incorporating their features.

>>26458211
Very nice, I had a design similar to this just recently. Having their back body to be just one big drill feels overdone, but I guess it can't be helped. What does bug me (hue) is how the hardhat isn't on the head of the last stage. It works for the base since the hat is big enough to cover the main body, but for the last stage, seeing a hat not on its head does seem weird.

>>26461617
Awesome. My one gripe is that the arms seems hella stuff with those guitars, so I'd suggest switching the arms with his legs since the latter are expected to be straight most of the time anyway. But yeah, I love thise. Shame that a sound type doesn't exist, but it'd make for a good Bug/Steel.

Since FakeMaker decided to post so many designs at once, I'll just give advice on your general style and concepts. Basically, your designs are too much on the nose. Wanna make a grass type? Just add leaves and grass on it! Steel type? Spikes in various places it is! Rock type? Make the whole thing a cracked boulder! Even if your actual method is different, I keep getting the impression that you take an animal, decides on a typing, and then you keep gluing various features of said typing onto it until it saturated with it. This is a prime example of it:

>>26465779
One is icey, one is wet, one just has gas clouds around it, all of them incorporated into an animal I have no idea related to the concept. What this does is that you get many various designs that are ultimately shallow and doesn't leave an impression, instead making the viewer go "bat on fire, got it, next". Find a relation between the animal/creature and the concept you have, and fuse them together rather than just gluing them together.

That said there are designs in this thread that I feel have good potential and that you should flesh out further, but overall, don't rush it. I'd rather see one fantastic design than a sea of subpar creatures. And to make it clear: your skills as an artist is sufficient for this job. You can certainly improve in that regard, but you're good enough to make cool designs that makes people stop in their tracks.
>>
>>26465279
This time you choose a fitting animal for the concept, so good job in that regard. However, this fella will compete heavily with Magcargo as both are fire type snails, so not sure what direction to take this to separate it further from Mag.

>>26465790
I really like the concept of a flying type based around the phrase "time flies". However, you've gone and messed it all up. Why fighting type? Why a rhino? Why tattooing the clock details onto their chests rather than making the marks and clock hands part of their anatomy? Whyyyyy.....

>>26465823
Bears are great, and so are ying and yang, but this design isn't. You've REALLY tried to force the ying/yang symbol here, with just color spots applied randomly with little to no direction. Heck, the last bear seem to be more based on the division sign than yingyang simply because you only wanted to add the line and dots and forgoing the circle entirely. My suggestion would be to give the last stage a bulkier, rounder body so that the symbol can get all the spacing it needs, while still not making it terribly obese so that it can still bust some moves. Also, why Water typing? Wouldn't Psychic work better? I'd also skip the first stage entirely, it adds nothing to the line.

The first stage for the ghost one is a teacup. For the second stage, should I just remove the arm bone?

>>26470675
Thank you! Those are older ones so my style had (hopefully) improved but I'll use your advice for the future and when I redo them!

For the water cycle one I originally had living ice/water/gas and it was weird so I just made them more animal like.

>>26470687
For the snail, Bug/Steel with Flash Fire instead?

For the time ones, I don't know what I thought about the fighting type. The design itself wasn't meant to be a rhino either so I'll try to fix that.

For the bears, I'll fix them based on what you said.

Thanks for the advice!

Re: >>26456183

What is wrong with pokemon being smaller than Joltik? Basically the concept I was exploring is that there can be super small pokemon in the pokemon world.

So might even be microscopic, since those niches exist in our world, why can't they exist in the pokemon world?

pinwheel kite.png

This is a mon that's largely similar to Bagon, a frilled lizard (pinwheel) dreaming of flying, and then a kite dragon actually being capable of it. Will probably be Dragon/Flying, but I can see myself tampering with it to make it Dragon/Grass, since it's not REALLY flying, just gliding (but then again, Jumpluff and Emolga are flying, so it still checks out).

>>26472294
Man, have never thought of the possibility of a pacifier bird, good idea. It practically screams pre-evo however, given its overall small stature and large eyes, although I sadly lack suggestions on what to base said stage on.

>>26472899
Because somewhere it reaches a point where the base stats would have to reach around 200 BST and less since those small creatures wouldn't be able to take a hit nor be able to dish out one. Why make such a complicated obtaining method for a species that's purposedly going to be awful?

I am still looking for my old Fakemon drawings. I'll post the ones I find most well drawn/ideally creative.

>>26472899
Maybe just as the fossil machine brings fossilized creatures back to life, a monsterization machine could increase the size and combat abilities of these parasites, putting them on the level of larger pokemon.

I have no idea how the random status effects wouldn't be annoying though. Maybe there are no status effects, or you only get the parasites in a certain area?

the first stage is great. the second stage has proportion issues though. you probably need to make the body larger and the head smaller? right now it lacks dominant features. the neck and body and tail all just sort of blend together. i really like the sketch in the bottom left corner.

Thanks for the input man. I'm really happy with the first stage, but like you said the second stage needs a lot of work. It's way too bland right now, but I don't really have an idea as to how to spice it up and actually make it interesting. I guess I'll start by actually paying attention to its anatomy. Your art already has much more personality than mine, I really like the big jaw and beefy arms. I'll probably slim it down though, since it's supposed to be a really quick and agile physical attacker.
