Requesters are free to request what they wish, but avoid bumping your request every half hour as it’s only going to put people off; try giving it an hour or more. Also, avoid asking for the same thing every thread. Have some patience and come back to it later. Please provide references in ONE image, especially when requesting something outside of the Pokémon universe. It's beginner friendly, very easy to adjust yourself to and it has stabilizer for those who can't into stable lines. CLIP Studio Paint is like SAI, but better apparently, but the interface sure takes a bit to get used to. I've grown really attached to SAI over the years.
And I was also a Photoshop beginner around 2005 until 2008 if I'm not mistaken. If you feel more well adjusted with PS, there's always plenty of tutorials that can help you take advantage of its power.

Getting a tablet doesn't necessarily mean it'll kickstart your creativity, but it does definitely open up for new oppotunities with it.
If you feel stuck, try gunning for new things. Try doing more dynamic poses, try drawing backgrounds, maybe give lewd a try if that's your thing, just in general try new things

this might not sound like much after my last post, but I've actually been drawing for over 10 years and studied Educational Arts, so I do have a bit of experience
drawing/doodling every day is the best thing you can do. the very very close second best thing is life drawing.
getting a tablet doesn't necessarily help you go anywhere. speaking for myself, I find digital art MUCH harder than traditional art - but that's a super personal thing. maybe it helps you. there's so many people out there who only draw digitally...
there's very cheap graphic tablets out there these days. look up Monoprice. I've got a Monoprice tablet, had an old cheap Wacom before, and the Monoprice is great.

I've been constantly drawing black and white until late last year. That's over 10 years of graphite, ink and ballpoint pen. Then I tried colours because I happened to be able to buy copics very cheap - boom
My art completely changed. Exploded. I never thought I'd be able to work with copics, but it's amazing.
In my experience, trying any of these can give you a real boost:

>coloured pencils (no joke, seriously, try lining in different colours)
>ink, especially brush pens; look up Pentel Pocket Brush
>watercolour
>very soft, dark leads (5B to 8B)
>using brushes for linearts - pro tip: this, with different coloured inks

Exactly? Most people on this board know pretty much every Pokémon, just through regular playing. At the very least, a decent knowledge of each Generations Pokemon, and having played each Gen once.
If you however, have played a grand total of ONE game, and you admit to not even remembering a lot from that game, then it's just really confusing what you're doing taking requests in a Pokémon art thread.
It's like me going into a thread on /a/ and taking requests to draw gay anime characters, and then wondering why everyone is giving me weird Japanese names I have never heard before.
I can appreciate that you clearly at least have some kind of passing interest in Pokémon, but if you don't even play the games, and don't even know pretty popular ones like Lilligant, then I don't know how much you can really get out of taking requests from Pokémon fans.

I think sai just automatically detects your tablet's drivers/pen pressure settings, is it dead? the only way to really change settings I think is to go directly to your tablet's settings and messing with those. If it's just dead try either resetting any personalized user settings your tablet might have or restarting your computer.
or if you just want to make a brush more or less pressure sensitive you can mess with the hard<->soft setting under the advanced settings thing on any brush, pic related

I'm the guy who was saying that. I think I was completely valid in saying that someone who has barely played Pokémon is not very suited to take art requests for it.
I don't feel like I've been an ass at all. Maybe not super friendly, but this is 4chan, I just speak my mind.I wasn't shitting on them, nor am I an elitist. Actually knowing Pokémon while posting on a Pokémon forum doesn't make me an elitist, it makes me an average damn fan.
But I still encouraged the artist to draw anyways, and have praised all of their pictures, so I really don't see what the problem is. If the artist was really upset at me, he/she could have defended themselves. But they didn't, they went and drew some kick-ass pictures, which is good. They don't need you guys whiteknighting.

Not too long ago I googled "facial porportions" and memorized a lot of basic facts like how many eyes wide the average human head is. I think that helped me improve, so it may work for you too.
