I've been on a bit of a roguelike binge lately, and I thought it'd be pretty cool if someone modded some of the earlier games to be dungeon delving roguelikes.

>random tilesets as you descend deeper into the dungeons
>getting worn down by random encounters
>random items like ether and potions scattered around floors
>rare one-off healing and shop areas
I know it's unlikely, but is there anything like this?

To be fair, adding pokemon with the more classic style of rougelikes sounds pretty interesting. PMD is really fun, but I could definitely go with even more depth in those games.

I agree with you Anon. PSMD improved in that sense anyway, so I guess the future games will continue like that. I'd like to see some stuff like the special episodes from Sky but structured like most Shiren games are (story structured in a way you can start over without losing NPC interactions, separate item storages, some sidequests, NPCs in the dungeons themselves).
The PMD structure works for the main story part of the game, but I hope level 1 dungeons get improved more and more (and maybe make them more interesting, having legendaries at the last floor or stuff like wishes in RT makes it feel more rewarding since it gives you something special you wouldn't have had otherwise).
Also different items are never enough. We need more and more and more.

Now that the GtI engine is stable enough I hope they build up on the great base these games have and make them even better. I'm sure it's possible.
