Guys I just had a thought, what if this is their way of making up for Nintendo basically not doing anything at E3 this year? Before we learned that Nintendo wouldn't be doing a Digital Event this year it would have been assumed that we would get Sun and Moon news revealed at the conference, so what if TPCi is simply going to do something like another Pokemon Direct or trailer to make up for it?

They don't usually reveal them so soon after the base forms. In fact, I think the only time they actually officially revealed the evolutions as part of the buzz before the game came out was Gens 5 and 6, and that was at least several months. They probably want to have some space in between revealing the base and evolved forms to let each get solidified in the public consciousness before revealing their "next" forms.
That, and the usual "people want to see this one bit of news, so we'll hold off on it so they'll check each news release and stay involved in the press cycle" and so on.

No, because the actual katakana name is Lunaaala. It's supposed to be a portmanteau of luna and ala, so they'll keep the two As separate if they separated them in the Japanese name. By the way, the trademark registration included the official romanization of the Japanese names (yes, there's such a thing for all Japanese pokémon names) and the English names of legendaries never differ from those.

It's three a's in Japanese because the long a in ala is written in Japanese as aala. The syllable thing makes less considering the region is based of a place with a language that can handle multiple consecutive vowel syllables. Luna'ala even looks like some fake Hawaiian word.
