It's their gimmick. As the generations progress, the Pokémon designs become more and more detailed and complicated. These would literally have been impossible to make in Gen 4. Solgaleo and Lunaala's "LED heads" are just for show. It's "fancy".

These two have many more minor details than Dialga and Palkia. The red gems in Solgaleo's mane, it's "muscles", alle the markings on its body, the weird-ass full-face crown thiny, the literally-animated LED face that constantly shows moving stars and that shows the Sun logo when attacking. Lunaala's weird wing-ornaments, its ribcage, the "wingbones"(?), the overall size and complexity of its design, and, again, the animated LED face. Dialga and Palkia might be stylized, but these two are much more detailed in total.
