Real World Animals in Pokémon.
>>
>>26216128
Don't be silly anon!
Animals are just a myth
>>
>>26216128
Literally my mom's giraffes.
>>
>>26216128
That is like a slide based in a dragon in our world
>>
It's just an artistic representation of girafarig
>>
ITT: Anime-only shit.
>>
The only real-world animals that are still referred to are fish and insects.

Everything else has been completely replaced by a Pokemon counterpart.
>>
>>26216128
Kill yourself, Mewtist.

>the fish
>what is magikarp
>what is goldeen
>what is corphish
>what is carvanha

That's just from the Kalos dex. Corphish isn't really a fish, but it's still seafood.

How about the "small insects that gather around streetlights" that Venomoth eats?
>>
>>26216778
tiny pokemon that we dont have in-game
>>
To any retards in the thread, "small insects" refers to small insect-type pokemon.

As well as "fish" meaning some fish-type pokemon.
>>
>>26216807

Only issue is, there aren't any small insect Pokemon. They're all around a foot or larger.
>>
>>26216807
There aren't any small bug types that are capable of flying around a streetlight.
>>
>>26216807
>>26216854
>>26217210
They exist but are too small to capture and too simple to train.

Like the microbe pokemon in gen 2.

Oh ok
>>
>>26217456

Oh... It looks like your Pokémon may be infected with the Pokérus.
Little is known about the Pokérus, except that it is a microscopic life-form that attaches to Pokémon.
>>
>>26216854
Joltik is only .1 meter, which converts to about 4 inches
>>
there is no canon answer to this dilemma because the creators of Pokemon don't really care about worldbuilding
>>
In Black and White the last gym is based around dragons that don't exist in either world.
>>
>>26216647
>>
>>26216807
why wouldn't they just say it was a fish pokemon then?
>>
>>26217541
And it's not an insect.
>>
>>26218099

Do you say fish animal when referring to fish?
>>
>>26216683
I noticed that they almost exclusively mention berries instead of real fruit any more.

Are real life fruits retconned in the same way or do they just prefer to use the pokemon world version if it exists?
>>
>>26217512
>except that it is a microscopic life-form that attaches to Pokémon.
Exactly, pokerus is never referred to as being a pokemon itself. So what you said before was completely made up i.e. headcanon
>>
>>26218091
>Its tail resembles Gorebyss anyway
That translator/writer should have been fired

Not a Animal.

Yes. Berries aren't even called "berries" in Japan, they're called Fruit.

Real-life fruit has been replaced by berries.

Oranges = Oran Berries
Bananas = Nanab Berries
Tomatos = Tamato Berries

etc.

No. They haven't.

It's literally just a Yorkshire Terrier drawn how it would be in Sugimori's style.

Your mom's dog can shoot balls of darkness from its mouth?
>>
>>26218242
Pokémon =/= Animals.
>>
>>26218262
Are you retarded?
>>
>>26218263
All Pokémon have self awareness and supernatural powers.

Dogs don't.
>>
>>26218266
It's just an otherwise real world animal with anime super powers.
>>
>>26218211
>Yes. Berries aren't even called "berries" in Japan, they're called Fruit.
I think that the translation issue there is why they started making up words like "Poffin" for that kind of thing. It's not a real word anyway, so it doesn't matter what kind of baked good they actually are (they're clearly not muffins, though).
>>
>>26218291

You can say that about most Pokemon though
>>
>>26218309
No, most pokemon if brought to the real world would stand out.

How can scientists possibly study it then?
If they prepare for it to appear, it won't.
It only appears by surprise when they have no equipment with them.

"without warning" doesn't mean it never appears. They can simply set up an area to automatically capture one and wait.

Wow, your pokedex knowledge is impressive! But have you completed the national pokedex? Have you caught them all?
