I personally think bug has always been an interesting type to play with even from the start but after Gen V they just became a lot more viable to use so then everyone decided that bug types were suddenly awesome. But lets not forget bros like Forretress, Heracross, Scizor, Shuckle, Ninjask, Shedinja, and Yanmega are all pre Gen V

I don't think we should buff bug by nerfing Fairy, since there are about 10 directions Fairy may get nerfed and it may end up ruining the type.
I don't think you can really buff Bug in a way that'll make sense. Instead I think they'll need to adjust types like Ice and Dark, and through them being more relevant Bug's relevance will increase.

What could be removed though? Flying types typically eat Bugs. Fire is a given. Rocks? Doubtful since even children get how crushing works.
Making Bug super effective to something new either won't make sense, or will inadvertantly nerf types that aren't overpowered, unless you can suggest some.

Fairies are associated with insectoid wings like Tinkerbell, and are often depicted as being above bugs in the forest creature hierarchy.
Bug should resist Ghost and Dark because they lack the complex brains to be affected by emotional and fear-driven attacks.

Well, they're not really in a huge need for a buff.
I've always got the impression that Bug was meant to be a technical type. It's strange. I mean, the type itself is pretty weak, it has weak leverage over the type chart, but the type has access to a lot of fantastic, strategic moves, and theyre so pervasive. Even despite the type being elementally mediocre, there's PLENTY of powerful, useful bug types. Everything in OP's image is from usable to broken.

True, I think a lot of the problem comes from the early gens where so many bugs were relegated to "here's something that evolves fast for your early game." We just need another round of well-designed bugs like gen 5 gave us, and for them to keep making neat new moves. Distribute movesand megasto older bugs.
Although I wouldn't object to a chart buff like neutral vs Ghost/Fairy or something.
