The second opening did the hand thing in a way with Richie.
One thing I find interesting in the way they animate the battles nowadays is how they make full use of the 3D space to make the arenas feel bigger to us than they actually are by moving the Pokémon to different spots in between flashy moves. This allows the animators to make the Pokémon travel greater distances and with great speed without throwing them out of the arena.
This is used very frequently, practically in every battle where a Pokémon is sent flying and/or travel at fast speed, but you only really notice it when you look closely for it. Some situations are more extreme than others, like when Froakie got sent flying from Onix' first Flash Cannon in the 2nd Gym match.
Webm related is but one example, can you spot the magic?Greninja runs past the halfway line when he attacks but when he kicks Sceptile towards the wall, Sceptile starts flying from the halfway line.

Not triggered, but it generally sends the message that the translator isn't very familiar with the series in Japanese, which isn't the best way to create confidence in the translation.
I've yet to see a doujin that uses the English name "May" and ISN'T very clearly translated by someone that has zero familiarity with Haruka's speech pattern and ends up mistranslating her lines as a result.

No, that's where the translators fuck up, since they have never encountered her speech pattern before and have no idea it IS a speech pattern, so they just translate her lines in a vacuum as if it's just the standard usage of kamo as opposed to a tic.

I think Adamant translates it as a trailing ", no?" at the end of the lines that use it, rewording the lines so it feels natural. That works.

If you're catering to dubbies, then just ignore the tic and translate the lines as if it's not there, since that's what the dub did. Dubbies have no idea she's supposed to have a tic anyway. If you're catering to fans of the original, translate it AS the tic it is.
Translating it as a generic grammatical construct is just plain mistranslating, since that's not what it is, and you end up translating the line as meaning something other than what it means.
As pointed out, it's pretty clear the translators that make these mistranslations just have no idea how she speaks due to not ever having seen any of AG in Japanese.
