XY&Z isn't really meant as a jump-on point, it's just a new title that symbolizes that the stories from XY and the Mega Evolution subseries are merging together, so don't skip ahead to that.
I want to see either Ash or Serena die/suffer heavy injuries in the TF climax just to see how the other would react.
They can just bring that person back to life afterwards through xerneas and we might get a dark synchro greninjash that some anons were talking about earlier or a confession from serena. The possibilities are endless

What would darky synchro Ash-Greninja look like? An Ashninja recolor, edgy spikes, the same but with glowing red eyes of doom?
Does anyone else wonder why in Johto that Bayleef didn't evolve all the way? I like Bayleef's middle stage so I don't mind, but it seemed like they were going to do the same thing as in Kanto. Have one starter evolve to its final form and leave the other two unevolved. But Bayleef stayed in its middle stage. Meganium doesn't even look much different than Bayleef so I wonder why.
The Johto starters really were royally screwed over in the anime.

Its still pretty dead compared to what it used to be. Even when BW was airing it was still fairly active, even if all the threads were filled with Iris hate and people complaining about Trip and Ash being stupid.
Then again when I first came to Bulbagarden back in 2004-2005 the place was filled with Misty zealots who would troll everytime a new May episode was announced, so I guess its not as bad as back then.

The thing is they've also used up almost all the hair colors for main girls. We have redhead, brunette, blue hair, purple and now blonde.
There's not many other colors now to choose from besides green or pink, and I doubt a main girl will ever have those hair colors. I sometimes wonder if the reason they didn't go with Hilda is because she has brown hair just like May, and the writers don't want two girls with the same hair color on the cast.
I don't think its a coincidence that all the main girls have had a different hair colors.
