Indifferent. Makes her more robotic similar to Klink but less adorable. Its nearly close to an animated toy now. Not sure if I should like.
It's interesting and makes sense as a legendary. Hopefully it will be juuust underwhelming enough that it can be played in ou.

I don't really feel strongly about it but I think seeing it in motion will make me like it more. The Hoopa movie did the same thing even though it was terrible.

Magearna is from 500 years ago. Magnemite were in the Kalos war, 3000 years ago.
Come on, now. That said, I like Magearna now that I know conclusively that the buttons on its face aren't a real nose and mouth. It's ten times more adorable now, and it's already one of my favorite Fairy types, as well as one of my favorite Steel types because of it.
It's like a cute magical toy, and the movie trailer seems to hint that the "actual" Magearna is the Soul Heart core at its chest, with the body being a dummy to interact with people like Wobbuffet.

Over-designed is a legitimate issue for artists. To slap on a bunch of unreasonable details makes it difficult to duplicate the look outside of models and can result in a very cluttered design rather than an iconic one. This is the reason Pikachu makes for a good mascot for its simple and easy to reproduce design, similar to Mickey Mouse
But Pokemon is not the worst offender when it comes to overtly complicated designs
