So the mag has leaked, and I've seen the starters. They are on the front of the Mag. I have taken the stock of Mags but the boss said he will deal harsh shit to anyone caught with a phone. I've only seen the starters and sketched them. Have fun seeing them in a few days vp

It's not bound on fan theories, but it's bound on the cartoon. The starter pokémon appears in lots of episodes, usually because Ash or one of its companion has at least one of them, and if the water starter need water to fight that's going to restrict the number of episodes it can appear. Unless the new region is something like the Orange Islands, I guess...

The other anon already explained why water starters are amphibious. It's not even a "pattern", it's a deliberate design choice. And unlike the other two "patterns" it hasn't been broken yet.
Shame those are not real. Pretty good designs though!
