As a matter of fact I do. I like games that do one thing and do it well. They're often much better than games that try to be a dozen different games in one, because those games usually aren't good at any of those things.
So yes, I'd much rather have a solid dedicated RPG than one that tries to shove in unrelated crap like dating simulators. We're all much better off if the RPGs stay RPGs and the dating simulators stay dating simulators.

Dating in Pokemon makes no sense since it has no effect on the bond between Pokemon/humans or Pokemon battles. Amie already exists for those who want to get closer to their Pokemon, but dating is just fan pandering of the worst kind.

While I don't think it would be a good idea to have the option to date characters, datingsim-esque side quests with NPCs like gym leaders, your rivals, and even team leaders if they get reformed like Archie and Maxie, could be fun. By finding them at the right place on a certain day of the week (like with the HGSS gym leaders) and hanging out with them and saying the right things, maybe a few fetch quests or battles, you could unlock rematches or even mega stones and trades for hidden ability Pokemon. Kind of like Curtis and Yancy from BW2 except less romantically charged and available to both sides playable characters.
