dont get your hopes up tooo much. the exploit is still buggy and may brick your 3ds. its low risk and all hardbricks are users fault so far (for example using a n3ds fw on a o3ds and vice versa) but there are indeed a couple hardbricks due to the code, so it might happen...
I'm on n3ds and needed over 100 tries till it worked.

Its up to you to decide wether you try it or not. The longer you wait the better your chances of a staple release, but the bigger the chcance that nintendo releases 10.4.

Chesnaught was difficult because of the blocks but I managed to pass it itemless because its only 3 mons and M Charizard brought a bunch of combos.

Delphox was slightly easier but you have to break the ice blocks real fast in the beginning. Passed it itemless.

Greninja is the hardest of the 3 because it uses it pre evos. It's possible itemless if you have a strong enough team, otherwise use +10 seconds if you have trouble.

Should I be trying to activate Power of 4/5 mons constantly by sacrificing seconds to pile them all in a line or should I be trying to match constantly regardless of the ability?

Timed competitions are like the purest essence of gid gud

Some tips:
- check the top 5 for team recommendations
- use pokemon that are easily to distinguish
- abilities dont matter in timed stages (only like the very first match for stuff like Double normal or Skyblast)
- M-Gengar can help you keep your combo since matching it will result in erasing itself and your combo wont drop in this seconds.
- Try to focus on the left side, do a few matches. Then switch to the right side and do a few matches. Repeat. Do not concentrate to much onto only one side of the field
- Dont do matches that require like 3 or 4 moves.
- I repeat: use pokemon that are easily distinguishable. Even if you have to miss out on a pokemon that has like 10bp more... Its all about never dropping your combo
