Despite Ippei being pegged as the next chieftain, it would seem that Saizo is more of a leader than him. Indeed, he has shown more knowledge than Ippei during the meeting. And he was even present when Kagetomo defected. I bet if he wasn't retiring he would've been the leader.

It's basically a mega evolution without the mega items. It also lets Ash see through greninja's eyes and act extremely fast and efficently. The downside is that Ash feels greninja's pain when it's by an attack.
The evolution might also have different stages since the Ash-greninja so far shown in the anime doesn't have a big, blue water shuriken on its back like all the official art/new opening has shown but instead it's shrouded in a torrent of water without the shuriken on its back.
