Here at ggvp, we post fan art of gardevoir.
Been told that my blue board warning is lame, so just going to say post what you want, but don't complain when mods delete because vp is a SFW board.

God fucking damn it, what's with all the people obsessed with Gardevoir? When I was in college, I had a roommate. Dude was fat, smelly, and obsessed with Gardevoir. He had Gardevoir t-shirts, Gardevoir posters, a Gardevoir plushie, and, I swear to God, he had a Gardevoir body pillow. Every fucking conversation we had, he turned it into a Gardervoir conversation. I wanted to punch him so bad, but I couldn't. I have anger issues, and fucking up just once could get me out of college. But honestly, sometimes I thought I'd gladly pay that price for punching that fat motherfucker in the face. I kept finding Gardevoir pictures EVERYWHERE. Some of them were covered in dry cum. Every night I heard him jerking off, and no matter how many times I asked him to stop - he did it anyway.
One time he said to me: "Hey Anon, we are having Pokémon night this Friday, are you cool with that?" I had an all night LAN party that Friday, so I allowed that, but only if his buddies wouldn't touch any of my stuff. At all.

It just seems a bit too messy and unclean.
That, and the style is kinda creepy, especially when paired up with how a lot of his content is creepy, off putting and sometimes down right disturbing.
Case and point: that entire submission your picture is from.
Even most of his NSFW content involves an old and creepy looking male, and more often than not, looks like rape.
It's just not my thing. It's closer to being the exact polar opposite of "my thing".

These look really awesome as such thumbnails - it really invites to look at them closer.
And this is where a problem strikes - closeups reveal wobbly, chaotic mess of lines.
Forgive me if the question is rather strange, but why is gardevoir so popular among fans? Battle wise aside, I mean (mine is named Athena, I love her black dress when she mega evolves and is such a good combo for matches), I though lopunny would be more popular in terms of aesthetic.
Is it because gardevoir is more elegant, looks more human, or is it because of the potential room for lewds it has??

Well I guess the appeal varies from person to person.
For me, the appeal started with the porn, and developed backwards.
At first I started developing a personal preference for Gardevoir porn over other mons, which refined more and more into a specific attraction to Gardevoir.
After a while I started to find the canon design really cute and taking a liking to SFW art, and eventually that ended up in me becoming a waifufag for Gardevoir.
Or are you asking why Gardevoir is so popular in general? That's a bit easier to answer.
Gardevoir's design is very human-like and somewhat feminine, so lots of artists found it attractive and drew tons of porn of it.
It also means that it's an 'entry tier' design. People who might normally think masturbating to Pokemon is weird could still be attracted to it's human-like design.
Outside of porn though, it's design is also pretty cute, so quite a few people also draw SFW art of it too.
Couple that last fact with it's Dex entries describing it as a very loving and caring mon, it became a popular choice for a waifu.
And to top it all off, as you said, Gardevoir is pretty good at battling in the games, especially in Gen 6.

Because the nature of these games; Player gender, actions and owned Pokemon have no bearing on the overall canon, barring Red because the Origins anime is how the game story should have went. The only canon things are constants between every player's experience, then that is superseded by a player of a 3rd version's constants if there is one. It is possible, but there are none in existence at the moment.

imo the combination of thin and thick strokes here make the image too busy, and the thick blotches of pure black seem a little heavy-handed. A constant thread up isn't "a few", and having threads up consistently will drain the threads of any content that could be posted really fast.
If there was no OC, they would die off stupidly fast.
That is why thread moderation is and was the solution.

I agree with you, it's not like this board will be any worse by having a Gardevoir general.
The problem is that the over saturation of the threads will directly harm the Gardevoir threads themselves.
There will be no art to post, nothing to discuss, and no OC to keep them alive.
They will die quickly after posting, and anyone who enjoyed these threads will get bored of them and leave.
You'll be left alone trying to make a dead thread no one will post in.
I said it before and I'll say it again, if it wasn't for SMD coming here and doing OC, these threads would have burnt out.
If you truly like Gardevoir threads, and want to keep having them on this board, why do you insist on running them into the ground?

I understand what you're saying, but from all the threads I've been it, that's never been the case.
There has always been trolls and shitposting, but for as long as I've been here, it's followed this pattern:
If the threads are less frequent and more spaced out, less people try to ruin the threads.
If the threads happen frequently or are spammed, lots of people get upset and try to ruin them.

Maybe you are right. But back then there was this recurring "FALSEFLAG ALERT!" shitstorm that stemmed from the fact that from time to time trolls would wait for that one day per week/month and quickly made a thread to try and run it into the ground.
Several threads turned out to be hijacked in this manner and attempting to make a new one after the drama and shitposing maxed out the hijacked one has been met with heavy disapproval.
Maybe /vp/ has matured somewhat and having fewer threads would really help. But I have little faith in /vp/, to be honest.

I'm not just talking about the weekly threads, I'm talking about even before then, when the threads had no schedule.
There was a time before the falseflag spam, and there was a time before the weekly thread schedule made to stop the spam.
And it was still a pretty nice time. People spaced threads out reasonably nice, and they rarely got ruined by other people.
Sure, there would always be one or two posts, but that's to be expected.
You seem to be so fixated on the time the threads were mass spammed, but that was just one time. The threads were fine both before and after that single event.
