I actually was responsible for our winning formation this game -- after I discovered that counter-attack was absolutely allowing /c/ to keep possession and goals, I switched us to possession and went conservative to cut off their passing game.
Also, we went with 3-4-3 again this game for two reasons: the only hint that we would use a formation like this was in our default formation, which we immediately drastically changed for the /lgbt/ game; and the 3-4-3 was absolutely devastated during the /lit/ match. Our success with 4 at the back against /pol/ would have been a red herring there.
McBob was absolutely getting ridiculous winrates, if we include draws: in 10 tests, he had a 90% winrate when most people struggle to reach 70%. I was confident that if there was any formation we could draw up for this game, it was this one.
And now that we're in the knockouts, I want to do a quick run-off poll which will conclude on Friday:
Do you guys have any suggestions for knockout music? Anthems, goalhorns, whatever: I want to build up the hype. Even though we're confirmed for Winter I want to go as far as we can anyway and show our advancement wasn't just a function of an awful group.
