I also don't understand how you manage your leveling. You can choose to use pokemon like altaria that are by 600 000 exp already at level 100 and sweep through everything or you can choose slowly growing mons like pseudos and grind constantly in the grass or be underleveled. Do you even play with grinding restrictions, like no rebattling trainers/wilds?

I tried this recently and had to give up around about mahogany town, it becomes such a grind.
around 20-25 is good for the bug gym, if you're planning on using quilava then dont send him out right away as the opening pokemon (i think its butterfree) knows rain dance

Fuck, had a run of bad luck and was training a new team in my OR wonderlocke, and I boxed my Lapras (one of my two remaining at level mons) for my HM slave, counting on my crobat to do some training in Victory road.
Accidentally ran into a trainer with a Sigilyph got a TPK.
Thankfully my Lapras survived, but the damn thing only happened because I boxxed it in the first place.
Will probably keep going as I have a small number of usables left and a few routes in reserve that I can still get catches on, but still sucks to lose all those up and commers like that.

I just got fucking destroyed in my AS nuzlocke in the second May battle. Her goddamn Wailmer killed my Shroomish and Grovyle with Rollout, and then her Shroomish pretty much wiped out the rest of my team. I blame my loss mostly on my lack of levels, but there's nowhere good to grind.
I'm definitely going to restart at some point. Not sure if I should clear my head for a bit or dive right back into it. I know I'm definitely not using Treecko again next time, he sucked and barely contributed to the team.

All right guys, how does this sound for a challenge run?
Blackout Run: No healing at Pokemon Center, can only heal by blacking out. No healing items, no boxing non-full health Pokemon, can only catch the first Pokemon on a route. Keep EXP. Share on, this will mean the Pokemon on your team that survives the longest will get the most EXP.
Other additional challenges I'm considering as well:
Only use your six highest level Pokemon.
No Pokemon on the team can share a type
Only use one/two/one-per-type moves above 40 BP per Pokemon.
