Funnily enough the only thing watered down about ORAS was the water routes, everything else was expanded upon.
You can't deny that it was casualized to all hell and on top of that there are gates literally fucking everywhere but that doesn't make it watered down.
Maybe compared to Emerald you might have a point but Ruby and Sapphire are shit almost comparable to Diamond and Pearl. ORAS is solid but they aren't good, at the same time you can't exactly call them shit either.
