Agreed. Rhyperior's defense is already massive at 130 and solid rock gives it a built-in def boost to physical weakness that compensates for the lack of eviolite. Neither one can take special hits for shit anyways so that sp def boost on rhydon is a waste, especially against surf, giga drain, etc. Higher atk and hp is the better option in this case.
