Those lists are irrelevant. What counts is whether they are mentioned outside of the game (which Red was) and/or if they show up as NPCs.
Game Freak showed Red on a magazine back in 1997 where they discussed their plans for Gold and Silver. They called him Satoshi at that point. He then became Red when players encountered him as an NPC.
