Exactly what episodes prior to the camp arc even remotely alluded to tripokalons? They were clearly shoehorned in halfway through XY specifically to cater to Serena, i.e. no battling, fashiong, cooking, fucking Rhyhorns. And of course it was completely self contained and had no effect on anything else in the show other than Serena's makeover. They didn't even affect her dynamic with Ash, her whopping three "inspiration" moments had nothing to do with tripokalons. You could skip them completely and not miss anything important.
