My thought process is that in the competitive scene, you have to use your 5 IVs. A sparkle at the beginning of the battle isn't going to save your ass from anything. But I use a lot of my imperfect shinies in multi battles, where we're just trying to have fun. That way, my shones get some use!

Vivillons can be usable with a perfect IV in special attack and speed, as long as it's timid/modest with Compound Eyes, so that really isn't saying much.
If you want the other IVs, seriously just get it injected. If someone got a legitimate perfect Vivillon from SRing the event, they aren't giving it to you for your shit tier Vivillon.
