Ok, here's the deal:
A while ago I was browsing the archived threads when I stumbled into this: >>26391883
The thread talked about things that piss you off in Pokémon.

Then somebody said
>The legendary shit is getting old, I wouldn't mind on generation with bio weapon legendaries like Mewtwo or Genesect

And from there people started posing ideas for a Pokémon game setting, and I felt like sharing them with you guys so that they don't go to waste.

Please note: NONE of these ideas are mine. I'm not taking credit for any of it.

>A game where the theme is rapid globalization and scientific advancement
>Region is divided by those who support bioengineering and transhumanism vs mechanization and industrialization
>Two different teams that support one or the other depending in the game.
>Both teams are very popular companies so they don't come off as immediately evil.
>They are in the middle of corporate warfare, figuratively and literally and you face off against the company's shadier division the masses aren't aware of.
>They plan on turning a legendary into a Bio abomination/Cyborg to enact a plan that will put many lives at risk for the sake of their righteous ideology.

>Pokemon Metal is Steel (obvious)
>Pokemon Flesh is Poison (representing both stomach acids and natural toxins, as well as viruses and cancers)
>Third version has a group of hacker/scanners who in their effort to fight the biocorp/cybercorp evil, have become just as bad, brainwashing/hacking random trainers to 'liberate' them.
>Third legendary is a Ghost/Electric, representing the energy that gives both flesh and machinery 'life', as well as the soul/spirit and artificial intelligence/ghost in the machine

>BioCorp owns the PokeCenters, which now only sell healing items, and the Day Care, sponsoring perfect IV uber Pokemon
>CyberCorp owns the PokeMart, which sells everything else, and the PC, which corners the market on trading

>Flesh exclusive Pokemon can shift various forms based on its unstable DNA
>Metal exclusive Pokemon can shift various forms based on its interchangeable parts
>>

>A lot of the region is urbanized
>But some cities aren't just full of nothing and there are trainers lying all about you can battle
>Giant highways/trams between some towns.
>You come from a modest, small village where the Professor is a quack hermit who gifts you a starter for sharing his love for pokemon so you can have a real adventure
>You have to pay a lot of money for easy traveling, forcing you to adventure normally through the natural landscape
>Massive sewer system area you have to travel through at one point
>Pokemon Champion is essentially some hippie who appreciates the simplicity of life and denounces the villains for trying to force evoution.
>He admires pokemon for their natural ability to mature the way they do and channels his love for it through battle.
>He's also a pro breeder who gifts you some perfect stat Ubermensch egg
>Victory Road is a giant natural forest maze in contrast to most of the rest of the urbanized region.
>Defeating the villain allows the region's economy and infrastructure to nearly shit itself prompting the postgame
>>

>The two companies have intense PR campaigns so they don't look transparently evil. In Flesh, BioCorp present a 'natural', 'organic' image to contrast the 'lifelessness' of CyberCorp. In Metal, CyberCorp stylize themselves as 'bettering the world through technology', to contrast the 'corruption' of BioCorp.

>Champion pays lip service because he's largely detached, so focused on his homegrown Pokemon raising - maybe he was actually one of the company's founders, way way back in the day (making like clean renewable energy for CyberCorp, and curing some disease for BioCorp).

>Once he finds out, he royally flips his shit and literally battles his way through one of their headquarters, while you battle your way through the other.

>And in the third version, he initially supports the hacktivist/brain scanners, but immediately recoils once he finds out their essentially enslaving the Pokemon for their cause.

>For maximum lunacy, this leads to some sort of tag team rotating triple battle where you and the champion have to fight an alternating lineup of BioCorp stooges, CyberCorp stooges, hacktivist rebels, and the fucking legendary to calm it down since all this rampant energy is driving it haywire.
>>
>>26474138
>Rival is your best friend and you start your adventures together but he's a giant nerd and naive to villain's propoganda
>As you progress through the game he actively tries to stop your quest.
>He's a downright enemy near the end but believes himself in the right
>Your falling out is resolved after an emotional battle at the end of Victory Road
>More new poison and steel types
>Postgame Poison Legendary naturally born of waste, located deep in the previously mentioned sewers system.
>Special Zygarde event because the region is this close to being righteously purged for its eco sins
>Special Celebi or Shaymin event to save some dying ecosystem
>>
>>26474138
>Elite Four are all mega celebrities
>Half of them are sponsored by BioCorp
>One is a hyper /fit/ athlete who prides himself on his perfect Fighting types
>The other is the leader of a national Bug collection circuit, the first to be experimented on
>The other half is sponsored by CyberCorp
>Requisite 'celebrity hacker' Electric user
>The other is a pop star with severe germ issues and prefers Ice types since they're 'climate controlled and clean'

>Champion uses Normal types, which is why he's fucked when the Ghost/Electric legendary shows up
>>
>>26474138
>Gyms are generally sponsored and they are commercialized all over their towns
>There's merchandise sold in every gym
>You could very well buy the badges if you grinded enough money and not even face them
>Every gym battle is broadcasted on television by a company that's actually Team Hacker's front.
>Gym leaders use types that reflect their political standpoint
>Except for the first one
>He's a Village Elder type of guy to your country hick hometown
>Uses Grass types
>Sends you off on your journey to experience the region's true nature.

And that's about it. Feel free to post your own ideas, r8, h8 and/or masturb8.
