Q: Is downgrading safe?
A: Yes, but you should remember a few things.
If the downgrade fails, you'll be forced to update to 10.7 and then use ninjhax or oothax. oothax requires a way to edit its save first, like an already hacked 3DS or a save dongle (you might set it up before trying, if you can).
Don't forget to use the right downgrade files or you'll brick.
Q: What are the advantages of a9lh?
A: More stable loading of CFW, plus bootrate and speed improvements. Theoretically impossible for Nintendo to fix.
Q: The browser asks me to update (9.9 to 10.6)
A: Change date to 1/1/2000 00:00 and "Reset Save Data" in browser settings. Do not press Home.

I still see people talking about redNAND and emuNAND in conjunction with aureinand but I seem to be doing everything on sysNAND with no emuNAND or if I am, I don't know it. I set in options to display the NAND in sys settings and it says i'm on sysNAND

It's fine. If you set everything up correctly, you'll be on sysnand, and if you ever brick, you can (probably) recover by flashing a backup, since the Arm9 payload runs before the NAND can tell you it's fucked.

OTP hash is 256 bytes, if I recall. Even if it was a byte per reboot instead of a bit, it would be 256 reboots. Not sure if that hurts your 3DS rebooting so much. Best case scenario being it hurts it in the long run. If it really is per bit, it's 2048 reboots. Probably not worth the time, considering the OTP process very nearly retard proof.

Is it really that hard to figure out? It explains how to use it.
But if that isn't clear enough then you navigate the selected title on the left and SD on the right. To restore you would navigate to the save file you want to restore and press Y on it to copy it to the game directory.
If you're using CFW just install JK Save manager. It's simpler.

Yeah, I think this was from a time when using security was still possible. I've tried the attwifi SSID as mentioned, but it never works with security enabled; only without. I read some speculation somewhere that Nintendo may have changed things through a previous 3DS update so that you would essentially need the same exact security setup for the AP you're attempting to emulate in order to actually get streetpasses from your homepass setup. I was hoping that was wrong or that someone might know of an alternative to that.

You don't need to leave it open for very long. If you're worried enough, you can enable MAC Address filtering for that relatively brief moment while you're going through your addresses, setting it so that only your 3DS can access your connection (this won't interfere with streetpassing like setting a security key does)

I'm not too familiar with the inner workings of DD-WRT (someone else may be able to step in here) but you can actually set up a temporary Virtual Interface that acts separately from your home network setup. The only problem is, I'm not sure how to assign a specific MAC address clone to this. It seems to generate a slightly different one from your main setup (I think it might always be one hex value ahead?)
Anyway, I've done that and it worked just fine. Name it attwifi and set your router to clone from the following MAC addresses: 4E:53:50:4F:4F:XX
Where XX is any of the values from 40 through 4F

I tried installing Pokémon Eternal X, and it said I installed it successfully, but it hasn't appeared in the game's menus and the eShop says I don't have the game. Honestly it's probably not coming outside of Japan. The DQM1 and 2 remakes were excellent and SE/Nintendo have shown absolutely no interested in bringing those to you, so I wouldn't hold my breath for J3 either.

On that note, why is the 3DS scene so fucking lazy? HR and Caravan are slow as hell with their releases and only bother touching the most popular of games, but not even all of those.
I've been having a problem for months now.
I set up a CFW, rxTools 2.6, then upgraped to 3.0 and set up autoboot.
After a while I got the "invalid .cia" error, thought I could still installing some .cia as the HBL loader one and tinyformat, etc, these small kind of .cia, but the other "small" .cia that are actually games never worked again, even the Shovel Knight one that is 150 mb or so.
I tried installing >cakes, enabled all the shit, didn't work.
I tried then with al9h and AuRei, neither worked.
From what I've looked up for on Google about the error that shows on FBI when trying to install ne of these .cia were talking about how tinyformat, HBL loader, BBM, DevMenu, etc didn't work for them, but my case is just the opposite.
These .cia actually work on other consoles, but not on mineactully is one's friend console, but I lend my own n3ds to him while I try to fix it for him, because I told about setting up all this shit and lost some games he had.
So, what can I do to fix this shit? What stuff do I need to install/enable and how do I do it? I think that it has to be something about signature patches and shit, but these didn't work with >cakes.
