It's been updated to 2.06, nvm what it says about 2.05. That's the version in the config/tuning/ogse_version file.
A new game will work without an issues. I'm using it with an existing 2.06 game. Your belt slot count is in your save, so you will almost certainly crash if you try to use more than the default 10 items. I plan to not do that.
Make a backup of your gamedata first if you want to be safe.

Here's a stripped down version of that mod that makes no other changes between adding the larger slot 1 and having all pistols, smgs, shotguns, and the flamethrower use it. No new ammo/weapons or weight changes. Read the README and make the ogse_config change it mentions if you want to use the 4 new belt slots.

I'm playing AMK for the first time and I just got to the bar, I'm not really feeling it though... What are some good ways to spice up a stalker playthrough? I don't even know how many times I've played this game but at this point I get to the bar and then give up because I just know I've done everthing. I did have a little fun with DMM where you can spawn as any faction but even then I struggled with giving myself an objective other than walking around for a bit and getting bored.

I don't see any sense in trying new mods, what can they offer? A couple new items, maybe some new, shitty fetch quests, a new shitty map and that's it. Not really worth it.
Right now I can see some freeplay being fun again but how long will that last? I'd play a day or two and it'd be the very same stale kolbasa, just without any shitty quests being shoved in your face. CS-1 is great if you manage to get it in the early game for 10k rubles. But otherwise it's still pretty good. Fairly high anomaly and bullet protection as well as 3 artifact slots make it decent, but still lacking compared to suits like Bulat.
Guardian of Freedom is decent if you you can get it for free, but it still has kinda weak bullet protection.
Don't bother with Berill as you have to pay for it and it doesn't protect you against anomalies.
The heavy duty suit (PSZ-9d) has the best bullet protection in the game (you shouldn't bother with exos as you can't run in them and mobility is king), at the cost of lower anomaly protection compared to Bulat and 0 artifact slots (2 in case of the Bulat)
