In the time it takes you to make a single peice of 725 crafted you'll be decked out in pvp blues with a few purples peppered in. By all means thought make crafted gear, it's actually extremely useful to fill out a few slots (like bracers/cloak/boots) that aren't tier to give you a big ilvl boost.
