If you decide to bother with it, you may just want to get a full save because the rest of the game isn't that interesting. You get to make your own waifu character and the rest of the game is switching off between building a town and defending that town when it gets raided.
There's another route where you corrupt your waifu as the bad guys and you send people off to raid stuff instead. It's all pretty repetitive and none of it is really interesting to keep you engaged, so I would recommend getting a full save and viewing the scenes with the custom girl you make.
Also you get to choose between a loli, regular, and milf bodytype so that's kinda neat too (except they all have the same VA which I don't really like that much).

You can't screw up anything out of order that I'm aware. I do remember some ice place or some area around there that made me get lost for an eternity. Just kind of poke around and backtrack until you advance, and pray once you get to bookloli.
Most of the h-content is easy to activate, just stand around enemies until heart maxes out as the boy, some small amount of enemies do have yuri content with the girls though.

Use this save editor: http://mainvirtualizer.github.io/CM3D2Editor/
use "save json", then look for the first 3 instances of "Hara", change the "value" to the level of fat you want (I used 193).
There should also be a way to change their hair / color, but that'll take me a little more time to figure out because the males use the exact same settings as the maids, the values are just assigned to different things. Lazy bastards.
