It's your post I'm pulling the quotes from you utter retard. You keep flip flopping and changing what you say in each and every post.
But fine, let's assume you're just retarded bad at making your points and you understand how the guidance work. How the fuck can Shitora guess the frequency when it can be altered digitally? And again remember that you can from highest to lowest in the frequency range without passing the intermediate frequencies.

It's not so much about guessing the frequency as it is spoofing all of the frequencies repeatedly until through chance it's spoofed for long enough to cause a problem. Considering that frequency hops occur rapidly, simple statistics justifies the reasoning that at some point, a critical quantity of guidance disruption may occur.

>This is also assuming that the Shtora system does not overwhelm the TOW-2's Xenon lamp, thankyou comrade vatnik

>>
>>126164590
The problem here is that depending on the frequency range, chance of hitting the right frequency can be extremely low and only hold for the fraction of a second. If you work from say 20 KHz to 80 KHz you have tens of thousands of possible frequencies to work with. Change 500 times a second and even if you manage to chance right, the disturbance would be so minute that it won't affect the missile.

>Any common IR trackers other than the Javelin in service?

Many versions of the AGM-65 use IR tracker. That is one scary missile if you are a tank in the business of being alive. The Indian Nag missile is another with IR tracker. The biggest problem is that everyone, East or west use FLIR to designate and lock targets and that all night sights see IR. Trying to overpower IR guidance like the TOW might work in some instances but everyone will know what your're doing for miles around you. The Swedes have a much better solution with the ADAPTIV, if they can't see you they can't lock you up or guide a missile at you.

Given that a TOW is able to zip past a red hot burning tank and work even if you see the sun on the horizon though the tracker, quite a lot.
As explained in >>12616363 picking out specific wavelengths and ignoring noise is easy and has been so for years. It'S an easy mistake to make since we tend to think of trackers in terms of human eyes which are easily blinded.

Can any vatnik tell me how Shtora can even detect a TOW launch? TOW uses no laser guidance or any kind of beam giving away the position of the launcher. Unless there is a radar looking for missiles, the first ime they know they have been targeted is when their turret go past the treetops.
>>
>>126171368
I think it uses a laser for a range finder to tell the missile where to go, but sends the info to the missile through a fiber optic wire, it cannot function without the laser part.
>>
>>126171368
There isn't a detection method, per se. The discussion was whether or not the Shtora would have any effect, given the TOW launch was spotted.

Just as an addition, Arena is what would stop a javelin attack, not Shtora. I am not vatnik, I have been assblasting vatnik in the previous thread, and now in this thread.

That being said, Arena is specifically equipped to deal with top attacks, it is basically "just" a doppler radar that detects incoming threats and then shoots out an explosive to detonate whatever is heading its way before it impacts. Thing is, like I said, not everything is equiped with it, and good luck finding numbers on it that are publicly available but not distributed by Russia's ministry of propaganda.

>>126173431
>My post specifically stated BMP-1 frontal kills. Don't move the goalposts, then claim I've moved them.
Not moving anything, just showing you that mentioning a BMP is completely irrelevant to the discussion about javelins. Saying "BMP can do X" is completely irrelevant to the discussion of what a javelin can do.

Your "argument" was basically a case of equating the javelin to the "shitty BMP", as in "pff, a BMP can do THAT" and in doing so dismissing the javelin's capabilities. Thing is a BMP's armament's offensive capabilities are outstanding.

Anyway, enough about the BMP.

A javelin is designed to take out tanks, it has taken out tanks and is shown to be perfectly capable of taking out the T72.

The main countermeasure currently equipped on SOME Russian MBT's that can deal with a javelin attack is the Arena hard kill system.

You'll have to wait for your T14 Armata and see what that comes equipped with slavboo.

Unity of command;

-Very friendly and easy to use UI
-Cheap(ish) @~20€ on steam
-Easy to pick up, no complicated mechanics...
-...but enough depth to keep things interesting for extended playtime.
-Games can be finished in under 2 hours (unlike something like War in Flames which will net you 100+hours to finish a single game)
-Multiplayer is a blast, but you will need to have an opponent, no jumping into matches with randoms (you could just ask here I guess)

Panzercorps;
Same as above really, although I feel that this game loses too much in its abstraction. Not even supply is simulated. You can completely surround a unit and it will be fine, yo can't "siege" a town, and encircling swaths of units is near pointless. Other than that though a perfect fun game that gives a good intro into wargames.

Order of battle pacific command:
Fast paced (for a wargame), a tad more expensive than the other two.
Out of the three most pleasing GFX if that is something you like in a wargame.
It is "sort of" a cross between panzercorps and unity of command.

This is a problem of the BMP, not its armament. I specifically stated the BMP's armament, not the BMP itself, now who is moving goalposts?

It is not

The guns on the BMP in and of themselves are fine. It is the implementation on the BMP and the BMP as a vehicle that make the BMP shit.

Barely any depression, so no hulldown.
Shit armor

Has a deadzone @11o'clock position because lamo IR searchlight which forces the gun to be completely elevated.
Can't move at its top speed without breaking something.
Can barely move at reasonable speeds on smooth roads without breaking apart, let alone crosscountry, might as well have your infantry loaded in the back just walk instead.
Autoloader is so shit it is literally faster to just to everything manually.
Autoloader is so shit it is literally safer to just do everything manually.
It is a shoddy vehicle to say the least.

All that being said it was the first ICV and it had the right ideas, an armoured vehicle capable of delivering infantry to the front at a speed that could keep up with armored elements, whilst at the same time being able to give beyond decent fire support; it was a threat to all NATO MBT of the time, even frontally. It was just executed pisspoorly. Furthermore none of the BMP1's flaws had anything to do with the installed 2A28.

To be honest, that T-72 looks like a mock up T-72B2, the "log" is not looking like a real log.
It has it's fuel drums on which is not combat condition, the thing that looks like the T-72B2 version of ERA has a big round thing under it so it clearly isn't actual era, just some drum thing to make a certain shape.
It also has no ERA on the top which a T-72B2 would have if it was a real one.
Despite having the turret shape of a B2 it doesn't have the correct sideskirts either.

It's a pretty bad quality video, but what version of the T-72 is this actually suppose to be?

The gun can engage tanks at a range of ~1300 metres.

Thing is, if it is mounted on a BMP, then that BMP has to be within 1300m of a NATO MBT, and since it can't operate properly from a hulldown position you are exposing your tincan to some serious whoopass.

I am not disagreeing with you on the BMP1 being sheit, I just disagree taht the 2A28 is teh reason for it being sheit, it is quite honestly the best thing about the entire vehicle, there is nothing wrong with the 2A28.

Is this a good game to buy? I really like company of heroes 2, and it seems like that, but bigger. Is there a steep learning curve to it, or is it fun off the bat? I really dig the whole snowy eastern front theme, and this looks like its interesting enough. I'm fairly new to the whole RTS genre, only ones I played before was World in Conflict and Battlestations Midway/Pacific and that was a long time ago.

How is the MP a puzzlegame?

Also, if by puzlegame you mean there is an ideal "solution" then every game that gives you set scenarios is a puzzlegame, in fact any game played against AI would fall into the category of puzzlegame if you are using that definition.

Gameplay looks a bit like DoW II to me, but with a much higher (or rather, any) emphasis on concealment, working lines of sight, and flanking rather than playing the "I tech up to walkers and engage your anti-vehicle units in melee so you can't kill them while I murderfuck the rest of your army" or the always fun "never engage, just play CP whack-a-mole" game.

CoH1 has fun campaigns. MP is fairly balanced, slightly on the Wehr side since relic are huge Wehraboos. MP is easing towards life support, but you can still get into lobbies.

CoH2 Campaign (non DLC, haven't bought them) is fucking trash. MP is dangerously MOBA like and for some reason less lethal than the first game. Factions are a mess, it's like they took certain aspects from several armies of the first game and amalgamated them. The only thing it does better is provide a reverse button for vehicles.

Yup. Still got a lot of work to do but they update pretty often. IMO the gameplay is already better than AS2, especially the balance(No more cheap autocannon spam rushes. Cloaking infantry shit getting toned down, etc.).

Plus, it's a nice break from the never-ending sea of WW2 shit.
>>
>>126221549
Well according to the roadmap for the game, they should have finalized infantry gameplay. Which honestly is fucking stupid, and vehicle wise, i don't even know what it's like, because infantry is so expensive i never see them, and when i rarely do they work in such clunky ways and are either impossible to kill due to range, or stupidly easy making most vehicles fucking worthless.

>>
>>126234241
Fair enough, was more referring to world in flames, war in X and squad leader.

I really am a WW2 nut so these games naturally interest me more than flash point campaigns.

After flashpoint, squadleader is probably the shortest, but by the time you have found a player, set it up and played a scenario yo will have spent many MANY hours on it. Not to mention the rule shenanigans.

Basically what I guess I am asking for is squad leader with proper implementation for the PC, so that bookkeeping and set up is done by the computer, not me. I always end up at combat mission (dev was involved with an attempt at a computerized SL so no real surprise there). I just find that combat mission takes away too much control for too long a time period in WEGO, A LOT can happen in 1 minute.

I dunno man, just seems the game I want doesn't exist. ;_;
>>
>>126234758
I go, you go -> igougo, I generally prefer "we go" or a phased igougo (like in squad leader).

With larger games such as War in the East Wego or phased Igougo starts becoming cumbersome and really more of pain in the ass than the added immersion/realism it brings is worth.

The question you should really be asking is why does it have more sustained firepower when that rate of fire makes them burn through ammo at absurd rates? When that rate of fire requires them to change barrels far more often than other MGs?

Honestly, people who say the MG42/3 is a good GPMG don't understand what the GPMG role is. The MG42/3 is a fantastic squad automatic weapon, but a terrible GPMG.

ERA in general is very overhyped. Kontakt-5 was toted by various slavs as wonder armor, making their tanks undedable and immune to any and all attacks. The Swedes however discovered after studying Kontakt-5 on thr T-80U that it could be defeated by a single shaped charge if struck at a high angle.
http://youtu.be/fqb6fzjBItU

>Better to not exist than be the world record holder for getting BTFO'd repeatedly in modern conflict
What exactly is your definition of BTFO?
Let's see Soviets lost in Afghanistan, the US did not, most of the conflicts listed the US had a minor part, or lost the war of public opinion at home.
Afghanistan: Won Put in New government and left.
Iraq: mk1 Lost support, mk2 Won, Put in New government, left.
kosovo: Let's just look at the casualty lists that is no BTFO.
bosnia: Primarily UN, the US was not a primary factor.
somalia: Primarily UN, and still inflicted massive casualties on the enemy forces. Didn't even bring tank support because of politics.
Vietnam: Got ceasefire, returned home, lost public support for war, and Vietnam reunited because the north violated the ceasefire and the US did not have support to return.
bay of pigs: Very Very Minor conflict all things considered
Korea: South Korea still exists, it was a stalemate between the US and China, not BTFO.
So either you are stupid or trolling.
