yea, location affects layout. I can't find maps of the layouts or guides describing the best ones difficulty for invader wise but the south pacific one is terrible for defense. One big thing is the initial wormhole layout lets the invader easily sprint to the bridge before their invisibility wears off, pic related. The indian ocean fob on the other hand has a bridge bisecting the wormhole used on the south pacific fob. I need to do more testing before I switch locations and check the other wormholes for the indian ocean one but the layout is a lot more of a pain in the ass to use nuke sprinting tactics. I always have nukes and I think the shitty fob location has been the one thing making me lose them.

The waters that you put your FOB in determine the base layout, and each location has a different layout of the first three struts (the final strut is always the same)
Some are easier or harder than others, but I don't know if an actual guide has been made by anyone to say which is which.
You can game it a bit as well, moving an FOB to different waters maintains the layout it started with.

Here's the indian ocean one, don't know if any others have the same layout but this one appears to be the most tedious. As for the wormhole that everyone usually picks, the one nearest the bridge, instead of starting at a set of stairs and sprinting onto the deck within 5 seconds, you have to climb a flight of stairs, run 30 feet of walkway then you get to stairs that lead to the top. The other wormholes aren't as bad but the deny the ability to get to the bridge while invisible, one has a cam and lasers and the other wormhole is all the way at the back so you have to deal with a lot of guards. If you have nukes this location would shut down sprinters by making them take enough time so you can actually spawn in so if you're thinking about a new base and will be building bombs this one would be a good pick. Also has s fuel rating.

I have level 6 armor and level 8 weapons on s rank guards. The people who steal nukes in less than 1:30 use an athlete in level 7 armor and a shield on the back to prevent them from being hurt by the guards they run past. I've had 60 successful defenses, my guards are fine. It's the handful of shield sprinters who are the only threat. I see them maybe once out of every 15-20 invaders, moreso if I lift a blockade after midnight.

I tend to use mid range because they cover the routes nuke sprinters take. For shitty nuke invaders though snipers are actually great, the problem is you'll have a lot of successful defenses with snipers but once a sprinter who knows your layout invades your nukes are gone.

Can you equip a shield with raiden? The only raiden i've seen got shot in the head and didn't even make it to the final platform before I spawned so I don't know. The shield technique is what every single nuke thief who does it it in under 1:30 uses, that's all I know.

Man the online really fucked this game up though, I just found out that if you delete your save you still keep all of your online stuff. Why the fuck would they do that? It makes building mother base and getting vehichles trivial. Yep, Raiden can shield strat too. There's a bit less margin for error than the Battle Suit has, but his speed makes up for it if you know the route.

1:34 to top platform is allowing a defender to spawn but I'm worried about countering the sprint to the nukes when they start over from final platform. Have to start bringing a nade pistol and scatter mines on the final deck where they always sprint. A 3rd fob is actually useless. It isn't needed to help you reach the required development level for anything that you can't reach with only 2 FOBs. Furthermore, you'll need to get a 4th FOB to have any hope of reaching the required lv120 in everything before you can develop all the grade 9 shit.

GMP is stored in offline resources until you get in the ACC or go to Mother Base. At that point, it's reappropriated toward online until it fills up at 25 million. Then it fills up offline until it's at 30 million.
