How to git gud with Genji? I've noticed a few problems that I seem to encounter in probably half the matches I play as Genji so I have a few questions.

If I move in I either get frozen and die or hooked and die. If I shoot the healer from afar, I'll get spikes or slugshots coming my way on top of Mercy's gunfire.

I try to use it when the enemy is distracted, but Roadhogs and Meis especially seem like a pain in the ass. Another time when I use ulti is if my team has a Zarya and she uses hers or if Lucio throws his ulti. I always focus on getting the healers first, then Mei, snipers or other squishies. In KOTH, I reserve the ulti for when my team goes in to capture the point, unless if I know the enemy Lucio has ulti ready. If Lucio has ulti then I'll wait for him to use it.

Once you start to de-rank I think it's harder to rank up because people below 50 tend to take it less seriously and you just have to hope the other team has more of those shitters than you.

Where did I say you can't shoot the enemies while being with your team?
The whole point of my argument is that you don't leave your team to go off and do all your own shit, constantly breaking LOS and wasting your amps.
It's not your job to kill people as your primary function, you can help by shooting at enemies while with your team, pushing people away / off edges, but don't ditch them.

A lot of the games I'm playing (in quick play) have a lot of offense heroes and no tanks/builders.
