I do have to question the in-universe decisions that went into her redesign. Were they trying to "expand their range of appeal" by making the chicken sexy? Seems like a questionable decision to try to attract families, focusing on small children, and additionally an "expanded range of consumers" attracted by that redesign.
Or maybe those affected by Toy Chica's "expanded range of appeal" were the very ones who designed Toy Chica in the first place. It was the 80's, no one knew what a "furry" was, just that anthropomorphic animal characters were getting more rad and hip. Stuff like Toy Chica could probably fly under the radar.

To make the animatronics look like actual nightmares. I'm so disappointed he never did anything with shadow people. Or went in a surreal direction, like having reality crack through. s felt like FNAF is a bit stagnated since the first game. The first game relied less on jump scares and more so on crafting a horror movie atmosphere, wheras the following sequels undid much of the creepiness in favor of more visceral tension-based jump scares.
I'm not gonna say it's automatically shit memescare game. But it's certainly gone in a direction that's opposite of what the first game had. It feels like the overdesigned "edgy" Nightmares, or the watermelon robots have had not a fraction of the impact seeing Bonnie at your door had. Could it be a sequel thing in general? Where it loses the luster? Perhaps, but it feels more like the franchise devolved instead of moved forward. This manifests in how each game is progressively more frenetic and fast-paced than the predecessor.
Instead of savoring the tension like a nice, juicy steak it's wolfed down all at once in the form of a glitched robot or misheard footstep. There's multiple moments in FNAF 1 where you know you fucked up. Foxy's sprint being the most obvious one, but "door stuck" and Freddy going off the grid are also other ones. Less The Thing, and more Paranormal Activity.

Sister Location's setting is clearly very different from that of other games. "Deep underground" with that elevator and industrial machinery in the security room make it clear that this is not a family-oriented pizzeria. I've seen some theories claim that the sister location is more of a facility for animatronics that are unwanted in usual business locations for whatever reason.
I'd say that this sister location was built with the knowledge of the animatronics' odd behavior not only in mind, but as the sole focus of the place. It's not just a couple security features like doors being installed such as FNAF 1's location; the whole place is a fucking bunker.
So what is the sister location, if not another pizzeria or place of business? It could just be a secure location to store the animatronics; make sure they don't wander off and try to get back to their old location or anything. But if that was the case, then why keep these new state-of-the-art animatronics in seemingly pristine condition? Why not let them rot, or better yet, crush or burn them? If the danger of these machines was known, then why store them at all and not destroy them?
I think the animatronics of Sister Location are being used for something other than performing to attract customers. My guess is that they are being studied. I can sort of understand the mentality. I don't agree with it, but imagine if all the lewd artists stopped making smut, or janitors banned spoilered booru links. If they wanted to maintain relevancy, their only option would be to expand on their universes and create stories. We'd probably see more comics that way. Beyond that, some universes/stories just aren't meant for lewds, and when the artist is pushed to make them, it feels fake and detracts from the original piece of OC. But that's just my opinion. Next time you do crosshatching, try to keep the lines in the same direction.
So start off with a lot of lines going one way. Then cross them. And then make certain parts darker that way.
