1. Your config files are being overwritten from the steam copies so no matter what you change they come back. Unlikely because they only load from server if you don't have one.
2. Your config file is read-only, so doesn't save your binds
3. You have an autoconfig file loading on startup which sets all of your binds.

not exactly. mge is a terrible place to learn DM besides getting use to how your mouse works, and rocket speeds.
The thing about mge is that there's no objective. A scout can run to the edge of the map on granary last and spam me with chip damage from his pistol, but it would be retarded to do that in a real 6s match. It's better to play mixchamp or tf2center to get a really good understanding of DM, because having a point that you MUST stand on to win creates context. Otherwise, it's just guess work, mge.

You can do all sorts of shit on mge that you would never do in a real match, i.e. counterjumps, bunnyhopping in every fight, letting yourself get juggled up so you get free height advantage, sub 20 hp shotgun duels, even positioning on maps. Mge teaches you the hard and fast rules of fragging but it's not perfect, so it helps to play more fairly and concede points. The only thing about pugs instead of mge is that the goal is usually winning, not getting better, so it's even harder to find a positive sentiment that will help you improve.

Valve is pushing this thing in the right direction, but it could be made so much better:

Now the flame-ring is a better spy + scout deterrent and allows you to pull off ambushes where you burn enemies and rape them with the bonus damage.

also why do your cores have different clockrates? id recommend disabling turbo boost on bios to get a more stable performance and less heat
