As I said before anon, I'm primarily doing it because I need something to keep the AAR interesting. Without making an enemy of pretty much everyone around me, I don't have any threats to face any longer. Islam is destroyed, the Mongols are Christian (and I've fucked them up so hard they wouldn't even be scary if they weren't), the Byzantine Empire is in a similar state of decay, etc. I need to make people hate me again so I'll be in some real danger. This is a good way to do that.
And, in terms of traits and what Bourgogne wants as a character, Messalianism is truly the best option. Also, note that I'm not indulging in the incest part of Messalianism except under rare circumstances (lunatic, zealous/lustful, etc.). One of Bourgogne's goals is to suppress that particular part of the ideology, although I admit it's still a bit memey considering we literally worship Lucifer.
Still, in Messalian ideology Lucifer is a benevolent entity, so it's not like we're literally worshiping Satan as other Christians identify him.

Kilwa attacked me the same time Natives and anti westernization faggots revolved
They had around 40k tropps, split into 30k and 10k stacks all in our African border. I had around 32k troops (with mercenaries), and about 6k were in Madagascar. The rest were split into 18k and 8k stacks.
I raised more mercs (I had a lot of gold stashed) and went to attack the rebels in South Africa. We had about 5k more people and prevailed (got some lucky rolls). At the same time, more rebels popped up in my capital in Sri Lanka, while Ayutthaya (30k), Dali (20k) and Lan Xang (15k) joined the war against Kilwa and friends (Pasai and Pattani, who controlled the Malay Peninsula and Java respectively)
Pasai sent about 20k troops to seize Sri Lanka and killed the rebels for me, but they went back when their islands were besieged by my allies. My 8k stack in Africa got deleted by Kilwa's deathstack, while I fought a war of attrition and killed his 10k stack (barely) after evading his troops.
Meanwhile, I sent my 5k soldiers to take Sri Lanka back, and my other troops were trapped between Ayutthaya's (who raised the War Exhaustion of Kilwa). We fought a big war, and despite having much lower morale and 5k less troops, we did well, but we lost. They were so exhausted though, I grabbed away a peace deal and two provinces, even though he could have won the war. (since he rekt most of my galleys in a naval battle)

It makes you a religion independent of Nestorianism, effectively a branch of that parent religion but regarded as its own separate ideology. Alright, can we put the memes aside for a moment and all agree that, for what it set out to do, HoI4 is a success? It gave us a WWII grandstrat free from all the archaic bullshit of Darkest Hour, and also much easier to get into then HoI3. Can anyone here honestly say they enjoy wasting an hour to fix their OoB every time they start a game of HoI3? Not to mention that, rather than needing to tediously micromanage industry like in other HoI games, HoI4's industry is both streamlined as well as more intuitive than the previous games. Yeah, it's true that HoI4 leads to more "ahistorical" scenarios, but isn't that the point? Why even bother playing the game if the outcome is predetermined form the start? Moreover, from a pure gameplay perspective, giving the player more options, whether they be historical or ahistorical, is a total success. Sure, Mosley ruling Britain never could have happened in reality, but it's fun to have the ability to easily do so in video game form.
Overall, I feel that HoI4 is getting a lot of undeserved hate simply because it isn't a total copy of HoI3 with slightly better graphics. Of COURSE the game is different - HoI3 already exists, there would be no point to making the same game again! HoI4 may be different, but that's by design, not by some unforeseen flaw, and it should be celebrated for the changes it made, not hated on.

I changed the design of the sun for the Oriflamme sun (which comes from French heraldry, as a nod to the French culture of the Kingdom) and removed the gradients.

Jerusalem could raise over 50,000 zealous souls in service now, all eager to march to battle.
When Bourgogne received unexpected news from Europe, she knew that she now had a place for them to march to.
