Basic cards are enough to beat the quests. You pretty much only need to clear quests every 3 days.

What sucks about priest is their hero power interacts with minions but they have no minions to stick and make use of. Warrior can at least stock armor on dead turns.
Their removal being so expensive is also a problem it leaves little room to play anything else afterward, another thing warrior has no problem with thanks to their 1 mana single target and 5 aoe removals + weapons.
Priest will never catch up with the other classes unless they all lose something big in rotation and this gains something. Shaman had potential before loe with all the cards they got in tgt, priest has complete shit throughout except loe, which ends up rotating next year so it's going to have nothing.

Problems with balance in Hearthstone:

I agree with Kibler, this should have no be a thing. Classic wasn't designed to be around forever. At the core, if a class has a bad classic set (Paladin, Priest and Shaman) it will remain a bad class until the time where blizzard forcefully makes the class overpowered, which leads me to my next point.

We've seen it happen to Paladins, and now it is happening to Shamans. They both used to be dumpster tier. I find this to be a big problem, they just outright make blatant overpowered cards in order to get the class to be more playable. The thing is, it will go back to being a dumpster tier class once the overpowered cards rotate out. We're already seeing it happen to Paladin.

Like Am'gam Rager in WoG, for example. Other TCG/CCG's design every card to have some playability in certain circumstance. Blizzard doesn't do this, they'd rather make a few good cards and fill the rest with cards no one will ever play- cards that are used for the sole purpose of increasing the card count in an expansion (Out of the 130-ish cards released in WoG, only around 3/5's of that are actually used).

They should simply move a few selected cards for every class to the evergreen set after their respective sets rotate out. You'd be able to find them in classic packs from then on.
This would also allow to soft balance classes, by leaving in some of the borderline OP cards for classes that started out with a weak classic set, while the stronger classes would only be left with mediocre expansion cards.
