Poison Breath is out of question since you need to be out of stealth in order to cast it, on top of having a cast time. Although some sins use it as a personal preference. Best heal poison tree if you use it on a mob wave of trash.
Venom swarm is PvP and is out of the question in general.
Choke Bomb instantly applies 5 stacks and slows, but has a long CD and ticks twice. Only use it if the boss is mobile and won't stand in one spot too long like JSY phase 1 for example. Not very good on trash mobs but the burst heal is pretty good.
Plaguemist ticks 5 times and on average deals more damage than choke bomb since it can crit more. CD is shorter than choke bomb too. Only use it on a stationary boss that you know won't move for a while. Heal is slightly better than choke bomb, but you don't get the slow and instant 5 stacks.

-Save SS for snares only. If it's a different skill it's either a block canceler or an aerial skill that only works on dazed/stunned enemies.
-Waste their escape and they are goners unless the thrall is up (That means they get an extra escape for half a minute)
-Don't bother with the thrall unless it's, for whatever reason, close to you and the WL is away or actually low on health. Even so don't bother with it really. If it's a 3vs3 yeah just melt it.
-You can put their thrall on CD (And other bunch of skills) if you do some CC on them at almost the end of their animation. Even skills without CC that push enemies will cancel it (Including leech yeah).
-The thrall escape will cancel the casting of SB and other skills so CC to force them to escape-thrall if they are about to do something.
-If they use bastion, wingstorm, SB, leech, try to cast dragoncall/helix or literally anything just move away. 5 seconds for bastion, 10 for SB, etc.
-If they use Sanctum (The circle they cast on the floor) just check the size of the circle, the small one will only resist KD but will heal them for about 9%, the bigger ones resist KD, stun and daze so either pull them out of there, start an aerial combo or grab them.
-Resist, block or make them backstep their leech and that's about it.
You should worry about other classes instead.

Yes, but poison breath requires you to channel it out of stealth.
If you can do it, get within a range that you can target a boss/monster > cast choke bomb/plague mist > start dashing right away and use stealth RMB immediately on boss/monster > start attacking in stealth. You can only do that with bomb or mist.
Breath requires you to get close to apply the poison stacks then use tab to go in stealth. Not a fan of that since if you get knocked out of stealth by an AoE you got to SS>1 back into stealth or blow a smokescreen; or the target moved out of range right after you kicked in and you waste 2-3 seconds chasing after it or burn a bolt strike dash cancel.

I believe you can start at any rank but I think it might be rank 2. When you first start you'll want to focus on just getting the dailies done. Pay attention to faction chat and follow the zergs. Learn by observing at first.

Oh some general tips for you as well. The terrors all have specials which are giant red fast aoes. You can tell what these specials are by the icons above their head. Watch out for Tornado, Poison and the arrow rain, those are nasty. There are 3 waves with 4 sets of enemies spawning. 2 pigs, 2 pigs, 2 terrors then 2 random nature monsters. The nature monsters spawn ontop of the walking drilling machines. Grindtooth is one of the most important one and is the final spawn out of all the waves. Usually spawns with around 5 minutes left on mining. If you can get yourself into a party that has buffs it'll help a lot.
Once grindtooth is dead they'll usually do 20ss npc which is an npc that spawns in the center of the base. Follow the zerg and they'll usually be able to show you an easy way in like climbing some trees nearby and just gliding straight on top of the tents and killing him there. Once hes dead pick up the item and hand it in for an easy 20 soulstones.
Another reason to pay attention to the zergs and where everyone is is incase they're killing terrors that guard the base. Each terror drops a box which has a fair chance of dropping a soulstones plains key. You use those keys to open boxes which have moonstones in them. Other npcs that also drop boxes which give soulstone keys are the main npc people are killing during battle. Grindtooth and Grasssquach. Grindtooth in particular has a chance of giving you 5 keys instead of 1 so he's ultra important as well as being a 20 soulstone faction daily.
Enjoy it man. You'll be there for awhile! Don't forget to gank any one else wearing an enemy faction outfit.

Actually quite jealous of this. Time dist + dragoncall is totally fine for killing large packs but its really easy to predict and the burst isnt high all the time (Someone immunes a call). If I fishing line a Chinese they tell the others and they all scatter - no kills.
Fishing line USA or BR they have 10 prestige, use the fishing line charge to Dragoncall everyone else.
Typically what I end up doing is popping the CDs on one as they run into grindtooth loot and kill them then escape so nobody gets the prestige.
I havent been able to burst down a single Chinese summoner before they get away since returning, its upsetting.

I used to play KFM but since rerolling SIN for owpvp memes it's just amazing. Being able to choose when you want to initiate and disengage is MASSIVE. A guide on how to be good at Warlock by Maku
Step 1: Find the helix button, push that a lot
Step 2: Find the SB button, push that every 2.5 minutes.
Step 3: Find yourself a male gon, sit on his lap every moment you can. Make sure to call him daddy.
Step 4: Develop a taste for getting bullied. The more they degrade you the better it makes you play.

Stage 5 soul wasn't even hard to get it took about a week of grinding SSP, and a little bit of luck when transmuting premium stones. Granted mushin SSP is probably the most profitable SSP around.
