Those are fair points. And I agree about the Ticket thing, mostly because MH has a similar concept with trading it to Elders, but some of the rarest materials can only be received through playing with other people online and raising your Unity Level.
I also never really had any problems with the control scheme, but that's mostly because I don't have huge hands (I do have long fingers though). What I noticed is that there is a sizable amount of people who hold their 3DS wrong, so it's harder for them to play MH or Kid Icarus: Uprising.
Grind's never really been an issue for me. I remember getting G-rank in MH4U in under a week, and that's with only playing with my brother and finishing most Caravan quests (which are solo quests). It might sound masochistic, but I embrace the grind. And I only really grind whenever I get stuck somewhere (e.g. going from low-rank to high-rank Guild quests in MH usually requires you to have some good armour, or else you'll get destroyed). I also grind with friends, so it never gets boring. Even with fighting Zinogre 15 times, there's always someone who is bound to fuck up during those 15 times, which honestly makes it all the more exciting because everyone else has to step up.
I guess what I miss the most is the fact that with MH, your actions have to be deliberate at all times. You have to know where to position yourself and when to start your combos or when to charge up, because you can't just go HAM or else you'll get punished.
Remember to treat your barrels with love and compassion. DO NOT rape a barrel at any time.

I'll preface this by saying I'm only on my third Overlord right now.
You can retreat twice per Overlord. The third time you have to keep fighting. I can't think of any negative to retreating. I've just been keeping their equipment on but if those Nep equipments are really good it might not be a terrible idea to equip something else on the third time in.

I didn't have any real issues with MH's controls myself, but I guess I've grown used to it.
I guess I just like GE/Toukiden for having competent, useful AI partners. So even when I'm playing "solo", I feel like I'm part of a greater whole.
To compare to MonHun, the Ace Hunters in 4U were meant to be the cream of the crop - and all four of them can't take on a Low Rank Gore Magala that you take down solo. With vastly crappier equipment then they had.
Though I guess, to be fair, solo 'story/plot' is still a pretty recent idea to MonHun. At least in GE/Toukiden, I'm a leader amongst others - I just happen to be the best, but your peers are pretty good as well.
I do like Fashion Eater though. Its nice to wear what I like, rather then what is good sometimes, ya know? I do miss the mix and match variety of armor sometimes though.

These two mods are critical to Any weapon. They are must haves.
So in that situation I would delete 3 of those mods.
For example delete:
Ice Element Up
Headshot Damage Up
Movement Speed Up
Then get another weapon with Power Up XL inside it.
Then you have 1 weapon with 6 mods, and 1 weapon with 1 mod. They will in total have the 7 mods which is your safety limit.
You then backup that savefile, then savescum and mod your weapon with the "Willonite: High Purity" to gain Power Up L as the 8th mod.
And with a bit of luck, 2 of the other 4 random mods will be good mods.

Nest step is to produce a ton of Debilitator+ items.
In your Munitions Facility, use:
2x Debilitator+ (or some other Rarity 7 item you don't need, just to get you started if you don't have a Debilitator+ yet)
13x Frag Grenades
And the facility will produces something like Pic related for you.
It's insanely useful weapon you can use in the field because it weakens the Absuctor by a lot.
Plus, the same recipe can be used to produce Adrenaline+ in your medical facility.
When you have these items and use them in the field, you will contribute a ton of damage output.

It was pretty fun. I liked it more than the Arland games, I prefer the older style of alchemy but the world/plot was more interesting and I felt I had to prepare a good supply of items before going adventuring because it was actually dangerous. Tough that's mostly from playing hard mode.
Hard to choose one song, my favorites are Hanashirube, Guidance and Illusion.
Hard to choose one girl because a lot of the girls shine when they're with the others. For exemple, Linca is kind of plain by herself, but her dynamic with Marion and Ayesha is great. I really liked Ayesha, Nio, Linca and Marion. Regina and Odelia were great, but I think I didn't like them as much because they didn't have as many interaction with the other characters aside from Ayesha. A lot of the non-playable girls were great too like Marietta. The only girl I didn't like was Wilbell.
Best boy is easily Keith because he's awesomeand handsomebut I didn't really like any of the other male characters anyway except the baker.

I only use adrenaline and adrenaline+ and it works out just fine. You can't put debilitators on things with shields on them. Then again, I'm more of the "destroy abductors really fast" kind of person.

If you're out of stunning binding thorn, and your teams mates or out of them too, and dragging the shielded abductor is too much trouble,
just thorn the shield, and cling onto the abductor shield and shoot until the Abductor shield is destroyed.
But yeah, Melee is good too. It's refreshing from just using firearms all the time.

Be aware that there are 3 different movesets per melee weapon category, so it's best you choose one that suits you, some work better against certain abductors than others. Also never use weapons that restore health on hit because they tend to have unremarkable damage in exchange.
There are also some weapons that while aren't the strongest hitting, have higher chances of critting an enemy which with the right mods makes it very reliable.

There are three melee weapon movesets in each weapon category
There are six melee weapons in each category meaning each moveset has two weapons
The way the devs tried to design this was so there wouldn't be an objectively better weapon (which is sort of a bust because health absorption weapons are shit and because the damascus knife is objectively better than the starting knife due to the shortsword category lacking in alternative damage types).
Now I'll talk a bit about the pros and cons of each weapon that has the same movesets without getting into details about the movesets.
shortsword
murasame/damascus knife: damascus is objectively superior due to dealing more damage and murasame having nothing to make up for that
kris/hawkshadow: kris is a health absorption weapon while hawkshadow deals more damage and has naturally higher critical chances and damage
EZ falke/happy chopper: falke deals more damage while happy chopper has naturally higher stagger damage
polearm
L-6E1/moonshadow: L-6E1 has higher damage but moonshadow is more crit oriented
gration/hyuga: gration deals more damage but hyuga deals more stagger
longinus/exodus: longinus is a health absorb weapon which deals less damage while the exodus deals alternative damage (impact)
heavy melee
TB-32/H/Kannagi: TB-32 deals more damage but kannagi has higher impact damage
mimas/caliburn: mimas deals higher damage but caliburn is more crit oriented
aftershadow/tebutju: aftershadow deals alternative damage (cutting) while tebutju is a health absorb weapon and has lower damage.

The main consideration is which region's DLC you want. You can patch out of region games just fine and JP psn lets you skip importing, but there's not a lot worth importing if you're english-only imo. If you do know japanese then by all means go for it.
