What is even the point in playing top? You lane control each other so much to the point that you're automatically behind every other lane. You're very unsafe from ganks, and in a lot of games end up being weaker than your jungler. If your jungle decides to ignore top very likely the lane is impossible to win. Even if you do win it often does not matter since the bot lane or mid lane is dominating and are stronger than you.
Fuck top lane.

My 2 wards plus a pink and the zzrot provided enough vision to not get "mechanically out skilled" by Leblanc and my extra tanky build allowed me to withstand full combos from the enemy team and not die.
Building vision on Leona feels like such a waste of stats, specially for a champ who requires to go all in to succeed.

I just watched a video where someone claimed that Taliyah's wallride is a "Fucking minigame" and touted it as negative aspect of her kit just because he gave it that label.
From what I understand, the term was first coined with the Juggernaut rework, specifically with Skarners pillars. People didn't like it because it forced opponents to interact with his pillars, which is not what they signed up for. Ever since then, I've seen people label EVERYTHING as a "minigame", from Taliyah's wallride to Jhin's four shots to Kindred's ultimate. Reapered would be shit now too. Everyone was shit, that's not really a comparison that makes any sense to make. Helios was considered a top jungler in season 2. Two seasons from now, ssumday and smeb are going to be shit too most likely. smeb was awful just a couple of years ago too. It's not really relevant to compare the skill levels because people have been studying the game and playing it longer.
Comp play was still more enjoyable though because games actually mattered and it wasn't just one league where 80% of games played hardly matter.

Outside of sheer nostalgia I don't know how you can even argue that the game's quality in general hasn't gone up dramatically since about S4. Looking back the sheer amount of QoL shit combined with stuff like the Rift update, this current jungle which actually has some meaningful shit like Raptor buff for vision or the various types of smites. The AD/AP item reworks. Just a bunch of shit that is as close to an objective improvement as you can get and some of y'all still think past seasons were better?

Runic Echoes has been fine ever since they toned down the MS. Devourer was cancer for nearly identical reasons as FF was and that's why it got replaced with Bloodrazor finally..
