I would go accuracy for the rest of it. It's awesome to have for anything in Savage, but Extreme trials also have relevant accuracy requirements, and it'll be helpful any time you're doing those.
In anything less difficult than an EX trial, the accuracy being 'wasted' is pretty much balanced out by the fact that it's going to be piss-easy content with or without the extra substats.

I actually really like to DPS while healing and have done it when possible in any other game I've played, but when the entire focus/skill of healing generally comes down to 'how much DPS can you dish out' it's pretty lame, outside of the most challenging cutting-edge content healing just feels so easy and nothing.

Personally I would go full accuracy, but a 50/50 split would work out too. The difference there would be, if you go 50/50 and you want to make accuracy cap for a particular fight, you'd have to put more Accuracy materia into the rest of your gear, but with a full-accuracy weapon, you can put more non-accuracy materia into the rest of your gear.
At the end of the day, one way or another, you're getting the same amount of stats, so it isn't the end of the world even if it turns out you don't like the stat spread you picked as much as you thought you would.

I was always a ranged DPS player and main healers here. I agree it's really stupid that healer DPS is the main measure of healer skill, but the scripted nature of every fight and the lack of any real damage going out (so long as you aren't playing with actual retards) pretty much makes that the only game in town. It's such a bad measure too, because it's wholly dependent on your group. Like I just put this full 240 (relic, midan left and right side but no 7/8 drops) scholar in the fucking dirt in every single encounter in weeping city, but he had the shitter alliance and had to babysit. I had some lala whm who stood around chatting and spamming AoE heals the whole time so I didn't have to do shit. Does that make me a better healer than him? Nope, but if we put up the parse that's what everyone would say.
I would love for them to put a fight in this game where you actually have to constantly heal and just don't get ANY gcds to DPS, but that's just never going to happen. Especially not after they fucked up so badly with gordias and they seem to have permanently destroyed their midcore raiding population because midas clears are low too.

That wouldn't even remotely work with the way that this game's healing classes are designed, and the closest you could get to making it workable would just turn healers into drinky-bird classes where you get through high-end raid encounters by spamming one button over and over for 80%+ of the fight.

SMN will let you also get SCH, which will be useful if you want to cheese queue times so you won't be waiting as long. It also gets a tank pet that will make everything pretty brainless.
DRG has positionals that you need to be behind/flanking the enemy to hit, so you cant do it solo. Not the best for soloing.

You could argue DRG since with SUM you have an easy way to switch to a healing class for queue times (the biggest progression stopper to MSQ beyond the rare time MSQ doesnt give you enough exp to progress on its own [unless its Heavensward]).
DRG being melee DPS means youre gonna get hit more so you gotta GIT GUD faster.
But really theres no good reason to rush through the MSQ, youre better off enjoying the leveling experience and smelling the roses, maybe level gatherers while waiting for your dps queue to pop.
But whatever you do dont neglect your hunting log.

I don't know if I'd "suggest" anything, because I don't feel like the game is really going overboard with healer DPS. Healing checks in Midas are already significantly tougher than any other raid tier, Gordias and Savage SCoB inclusive, and if you look at the statistics for healers on FFLogs, healer DPS is really low all the way up to like the 75th percentile, which kind of suggests that it's really only the upper echelon of players who can manage to make the "spend most of your time DPSing" idea work. Which in my mind is completely 100% okay.

Like almost everything else in the game, it's entirely dependent on your party. If you have competent dps that know how to dodge and kill stuff on time, then A7S is a cakewalk for healing. But if they keep getting knocked over by bowling balls, they leave up B4B when taking super beams, tanks don't pop CDs, etc, you can be in for a rough time.
A8S is just bullshit though.

Name something in any other raid tier that demands more out of the healers than 2x Sizzlespark into Sizzlebeam into 8x Bombs, or Long Needle/Short Needle, or basically the entire second phase of A8S.
The only thing that comes close was the last phase of A4S, and the only reason that was trouble was because your MP kept getting wiped out, you had to revive all the people who sacced, and you were expected to DPS on top of that.

You only need 600 accuracy to hit cap on A8S, that can be reached with body melds and food.
Even if you're dpsing on A8S you don't need 100% cap since you'll be healing 90% of the time and the little you dps, nobody will really care if you hit or miss.
3.4 gear was already mentioned by yoshida to have accuracy so having acc on weapon will eventually be wasted
Heal crits save you mp and stone III crits make turning cleric on a lot worthwhile.

Healing when you are learning a fight is hard, but once everything clicks it's super easy. DPS players are expected to constantly improve and optimize, even after a fight is cleared. I am a healer and feel less pressure to perform than I would if I was a DPS player. And the fact of the matter is that most DPS players, even in savage groups, are sub-par. Healer and tank DPS wouldn't be such a big thing if DPS players actually put out 80-90% of their potential damage. Assuming you're just Joe Raider on the street, you're lucky to find a static with 3 guys in it who can do 75% of what their potential is.

No, it still would be. The amount of effort required to play a DPS class putting out 80-90% of their potential damage is much, much higher than the amount of effort required to play a tank or healer that doesn't worry about DPS. It would be extremely unusual to see a group where the DPS players are good enough to hit those numbers, but the tanks and healers are borderline-incompetent and can't put out decent DPS while doing the tanking/healing jobs.

This is why I wouldn't count on a relic for accuracy on a healer. Unless you only ever play one healing class, ever, or you're enough of a no-life to have multiple 240+ relics, you're either going to be way over cap on the class with the relic, way under cap on every other healer, or both.

Good players would still be DPSing, but in a group of less skilled players I can think of at least a couple instances where if I wasn't going HAM as a healer we'd fail a check and wipe. I am happy to DPS as much as I can it makes my job interesting. I wouldn't NEED to be chugging mind pots and melding Acc Vs in every slot if I played with people who were better, although I would still do that because I COULD. The difference I am talking about is between it being a necessity and something that you do because you can.
