Go to the Sandy Shores and Grapeseed airfields and practice your landings and takeoffs. Shitters won't bother you up there, and if you do see a red blip approaching, it's easy to fuck off into the mountains and escape.
Also, don't practice flying in a Besra if there are hostiles around. It's an amazing plane but it shares map icons with the Hydra and Lazer and people may open fire on you thinking you're a fighter jet.

That one in particular got patched about a year ago. It was possible to recreate when VIP stuff came out, but got patched again when they disabled the Accessories menu.
There are a couple methods still floating around, but they don't have forearms and only give you literal Rayman hands. Male characters have one involving the sweater vests, glitching the chemical mask with the telescope, and mission hopping, while females have one that's activated by toggling gloves and then earrings from the M menu while wearing a flight suit, if I remember correctly.

My problem is that the game tried to parody LA way too hard by literally being a parody. Every character is written in some oddly niche way that once you pick up on their big schticks, you can sort of predict what all is going to happen (i.e. Michael's wife fucking/getting sexual with other dudes and Michael himself blowing up because other dudes are fucking/getting sexual with her, despite him not pleasing her needs). You could paint a fucking Bob Ross painting of the story and know exactly what was going to happen, thanks to how easily the story and characters were to ingest. Old man who wanted a happy family man but is way too self-centered and focused on the past rather than considering the present. Black dude who wanted to stop being a criminal but had to be a criminal to do it. Hick. There, I explained the entire cast. And their adventures are a clusterfuck as well.
Overall, the story lacks substance. It's all a joke building upon itself to portray LA's residents as inbreds who do nothing but ingest media, but causes the game to feel like it's ripping on what wrote Saint's Row past 3 without actually doing what Saint's Row did right. It's just not good.

I've spent the last week, at least multiple attempts a day, to get one setup mission done.
The pugs just cannot do. They just fucking can't. Even on easy. Every time I launch the mission which takes a minimum of one and a half hours to find all four players, they will IMMEDIATELY die and the entire thing fails.

I've only done heists with pugs. Most on normal, some on hard, none of easy. Only a few have failed. They rarely get the challenges tho. But if you're failing every. single. time. then maybe the problem isn't the pugs, friend.
