All enemies have different defenses to combat styles what's best for some isn't best for all. There's a few that need multiple combat styles to boot.
Doing quests will get your combat stats to 30-40 easily; but maining magic while doable in most content will fuck you in the long run with costs. Would you rather spend 3k killing a guard or 0?
