I really need some help here.
I'm a HM5 assassin, with 469ap, and I've been using lightning build because leveling. After reding the thread and watching some youtube vids about guides on Dark build, I decided to try it. And its ridiculously underwhelming.
Not only do I do lower damage (and a fuck ton less damage), it just feels like nothing goes on, its not fun. I've heard you need to spend like 2k+ gold to make it viable. Who the fuck thought that gating a build beyond a ridiculous amount of gold was a good idea?
I really thought Dark was viable, but this is just retarded. Is it really a meme afterall, or am I doing something wrong with my rotation?

Don't bother spending any gold on Dark Build, it's worse than Lightning in every way. It's less fun, less safe (being lightning is just as safe as being a ranged character), and has less damage potential.

If you don't use CCs, grab combos and buffs/debuffs, sure.
Des is different than the other classes because it can be played straight unga bunga, but you're much more useful and effective if you use the other skills, too.

It's just slower and a lot less squishy than the other classes, so there's less movement and frantic button mashing involved and sometimes you can eat a telegraph to maintain melee DPS if you know it won't CC you and you'll have a chance to use a pot or HP recovery skill shortly after. WL bleed is not reliable, there will always be downtime were you can't keep it up. You can just easily maintain it for the period where the skill is being used. SF has a better bleed than WL, too.
