got deadpool through cosmic trial and doing cosmic midtown looking at the insane drops, tried to do trial on any other character and can not pass the damn thing and the guys talking about raiding gear level 69 taking like 6 months of grinding everyday to get just seems like a waste of time. grind for 6 months to do 1 raid fight?
Granted I missed the Cosmic Trial gate being put into place but it does seem a bit nonsensical doesn't it? If you have to stack gear to get into it then by the time you get into it nothing drops that you actually need. It just doesn't seem very logical.

So for full 66 upgrades you need a total of 1350 hero comms to buy the recipes. You get 250 hero comms a week. So after about 6 weeks you will have full 66's.
In that same time you will get 1,062 Protectors which is enough to get the recipes for slot 1,2 and 5. Assuming you aren't doing Red musp it will take another 3 weeks to get the other 2 upgrades. So you're looking at about 2 and half months if you do your dailies each day and the GLF weeklies.
Keep in mind that as long as you have some decent artifacts with blessings, leveled legendary and appropriate uniques, you should be able to easily get into a Red musp group after you get your 66's so you might get full 69 sooner.
Not sure if muggas are still doing their Friday night raids but they've carried new players in the past.

You don't need to stack gear for trial, you just need to be mildly competent. The game isn't an on off switch of gud or not gud, you get top tier loot in cosmics to replace the mid tier gear you should be running to get into it.

Something worth noting, to those talking about STASH space, is that they are a bit of Jews with it because what you see now is much smaller than we previously was in the game. So i just did my first Cosmic Terminal, It started out really easy killing the little robots. First Ultron miniboss on the roof went down easy enough with like 5 deaths. Second miniboss only had 2 deaths and the final Ultron Prime wrecked my face like 12 times before i finally took him out. Is it normal to die a lot? I was a little worried Hawkeye wouldn't even be able to handle it but with the Captain America Team-up it wasn't too bad.

Cosmic Ultron Terminal is kind of an exception, since it's a lot more overwhelming than others, and the damage is a bit overtuned. In general, most terminals you will skip all the mobs and go straight for the boss, and you should be able to tank one or two hits of those. I haven't really done Cosmic Ultron with anyone besides DP, so I can't speak much for how often you're expected to die, since it's pretty hard to die with DP unless you're not paying attention.

Playing the storymode. It's currently consolidated so that it's only a single storymode (no more difficulty settings), so you only have to do the reward quests once to get the character bonuses. There's also "catch-up" story quests that offer a lot of XP to act as a buffer to keep characters in the approximate level range. Depending on your hero synergy, you'll have to do more or less work. Just sprinkle in some LQs and/or patrol zones if you get bored or need to bridge some more levels.

Prestiging is your best bet. You get a free basic costume each time you prestige, and you can combine any 3 costumes to roll for a random costume.
There's also the Fortune Card 1 that you can buy with Cube Shards - it's rare, but you can eventually get some costumes from them. In 500 hours I've gotten 2. Technically free!

It's designed to give you something to do, You can get through the story content pretty fast. Once you do all the terminals there's really only grinding left. Leveling up NPC's gave you a use for all the shitty gear you'd be getting that was worse than what you already had.
